Great setup , i'm getting same build though changing some of the components like V8 cooler instead of the hyper 212 , WD black 1tb HDD 64MB cashe , 1000w PSU . and like everyone said i'd ditch the SSD .

How is the V8 rated? I was looking at getting a H70 orginally but its just to big and clumpy I wanted something I can put silent fan on. Also could you link me to the Harddrive your looking at. I want to use the best possible 1TB drives in RAID0 I thought the F3 were the best??

The V8 is the better cooler it has 8 heat pipes and has red LED's as well so it looks better :D , i originally wanted to get the H70 aswell but water cooling is not necessary with 2600k i've seen people pull 5.2Ghz on air alone , As for the HDDI've always used WD hdds they are amazing plus this one has 64mb cashe , F3 is good too but the one i linked you to has 64MB cashe and uses Sata 3 6gb/s . As for the graphics cards i'd recommend you get the EVGA superclocked edition , people have reported that the MSI one doesn't come overclocked but you have to overclock it you self .

We will have to keep each other posted, I will be building in March probably order the parts beggining of march when I have some free time. I have just been looking at the 580 again to be honest all i want is to play Battlefield 3 when its out, GTA IV and Crysis 2 so I may just go with the MSi frozr OC 580?adam0926

I will personally get the EVGA superclocked 580 ... accorind to reviews for the MSi the card does not come overclocked , you have to overclock it your self .

Its high, not very high and yes, shaders are all set on medium,he got it wrong.

Bus-A-Bus

Most videos I've seen have "Highspec" settings this is the only one that has "Veryhighspec". Check the video again .

This one is set on very high? How?I thought they said you can't choose very high...probably through editor you can i think. But shaders are indeed all locked at medium.

I'm not really sure ,. they are working around the locked shaders thing .. maybe they have ,and honestly this video looks better than most videos we've seen ...... idk really .

I'm currently using the system I built about 3 years ago(Q9450, 8800GTS 512 ect) using the same PSU from that build as its been a dream (i-Green 800w somthing like that anyway). I really dont know what 580 to get I am seriously thinking of holding out till 595 tho.

Why not over clock yourself and save some bucks on the GPU?adam0926

Well the Sc edition is guaranteed to always run at the OC'd speed where as you might have problems with overclocking the normal ones ,and it's only $20 dollars more so why not ? And yea one of the reasons i'm getting my build in march is because of the 590 , I'll wait and see some benchmarks and then decide. but I read that it will have lower clock speeds than the 580 .

Sata 3 ports are ok , Now if you get a mobo like Asus p8p67 deluxe you will have ''4'' sata 3 (6gbs) ports to use and you wont have any problems . though i don't know why you'd need all those HDDs . I'm building a SB pc early march and i will only be using the sata 3 ports as im only getting 1tb HDD and DVD burner and maybe an SSD . And yes you can safely use all of them even with Sata 2 till the new mobos come out which should be sometime around apri , the problem takes about 2-3 years to occur and only affects 5% of the mobos .

ttobba07
My current desktop I am using 8 ports. 1 DVD drive, 1 bluray drive, 3 1tb HDDs(One for data, one for movies and one for tv as I use this as a HTPC and personal machine), 1 64GB SSD for boot, and 2 ports are connected to an esata bracket so I can do my once a week data backup to external drives for security purposes.

Wow , For me i have 1Tb HDD , and an external WD 1tb HDD (via USB) and DVD burner and might get an SSD for boot with the new build ... to me thats all the space i'll ever need .
