To add to that also make sure you set up outpost on all major raods leading to the the home base that way you can set traps for hordes so they never make it to your base making a larger safe zone and helps scavengers to return home safely with supplies
I cant compare the games because I have not played the last of us but I think they also take into considertaion the fact that SoD is a 20 buck arcade title. If this was a full retail release at 40 or 60 bucks it may have gotten a 7.0 or 7.5 but either way I am loving this game highly addictive.
How about this I took one of my strongest charcters out, messed around and got pounced on by a feral zed... thats when I noticed that I accidentally left the house without grabbing some pain pills and a snack, luckily I had a bottle of gasoline. I threw it and used all of my stamina to make it to a nearby vehicle and just barely got away, zombies hanging on to the car and all but I managed to make it to an outpost. But for that one second when that feral zed was on me I had almost lost hope and thought that my most leveled up character was gone for good. Never had a fearful moment like that with any other game. even when other games make you fear for your death most of the time its because you dont want to start over from a check point, with this game you either carry on without that character or start a new game.
I know what you mean, sometimes when I am ready to give the game a break I cant because I have to go out and make sure I have enough supplies for my people to survive, making sure my outpost are armed with traps to keep hordes away and before I know it I have played another hour just to be able to turn the game off and not worry.....crazy but Im enjoying the game all the same.
They have realesed two patches since launch that seemed to have taken care of a lot of the major bugs, at least I have not come across any. The bugs i gave come across are typical of a game of this type but none that have hindered the game play. For 20 bucks this is a must buy. I am loving this game and I must have started over about 5 times until I got the hang of keep up a happy well protected home base. A few times I would turn the game on to find that my survivors didnt make it through the night. I hit the web for some survival tips and it made a huge difference.
Microsoft, people have to really want and demand these features of you for them to actually have value to us. If people could care less then there is no real value. Thats like increasing the price of a car because you added cup holders that the purchaser may or may not ever use. So when you say value, who is it valuable to. Drop your price and call these features an added bonus and you may have changed the game, but to charge 100 more for something we could absolutly do without is just you leaching off of the consumer.
Its funny how they say they are over delivering "value". The last time I checked it was the consumer's demand that determines what is valuable in the market. All I want is an awesome gaming console thats what I value in this situation. Therefore, smartglass is of no value to me because it is not something I need or want or care about. Skype is available on almost every device I own already and I dont use it, its of no value to me either. I already pay for TV service so Im not looking for my gaming console to provide it for me, so again that is of no value to me. Does microsoft think we are going to just throw away all of our other devices to replace them all with the xb one. Some of us have just purchased these devices and it would be a bit of a gamble to get rid of them all in hopes that an xb one can replace them all wihtout a problem. What if you replace these devices for the all in one system and then end up having another RROD type of epidemic with the new console? you just went from having all media to no media in one failed device. Im not taking that risk.
