I certainly agree, you're able to play the 3DS without using 3D effect. The overall design is simply trash in my opinion. Having the control pad futher up looks comfortable, and there's no sign of an additional pad. It obivisiuly appears they took little time with this.I just sort of wonder why. I mean the 3DS is selling fine even if people aren't using the 3D feature that much. Some speculate that it's coming out for kids who want the next Pokémon who can't afford the standard model as well as if you've seen those warnings about young kids not using the 3D feature.
But still I just don't see the point of it.

The Nintendo 2DS was recently announced and already due to release October 12th for only $130 dollars. This handheld will play all 3DS titles, but without the 3D capabialty. The 2DS is not hinghed, making it feel more like a tablet. Link
