The not so emergency services?

Heh, basically. Some website said it can be used to report "suspicous activity that isn't currently happening" or something.

It seems to be a local government center number. I got a message from the mayor or something saying the office was currently closed. Then a recorded message instructed me on how to leave a message at the proper section.

I go on long walks in the morning and a certain house that I pass by a few blocks away seems to have its house alarm going off. Its been going off for at least two days now. The thing is, it sounds like its muffled, or damaged, or perhaps low on batteries or something. It sounds like a quick car alarm sounding off in the distance, but its coming from the front of the house.

I have particularly strong hearing and I'm not sure if I'm simply misinterpreting the sound of some appliance or something. Its not loud enough to annoy neighbors it seems. I can barely hear it from across the street, but when infront of the house its easy enough to hear.

I'm thinking that since its been going on for at least two days now, its not important enough for 911. I've called 311 a few minutes ago and left a message about, although they really don't seem to be on the ball.

Any suggestions?

It depends on what kind of player you are. If you actually involve yourself with the atmosphere and kind of put yourself in the game, you should love it. Just play as the character, not as yourself. 1 word of advice. With games like Penumbra and Amnesia, DON'T purposely run into the monsters and "get used" to them. Getting to understand your enemy (their looks and abilities) really take a lot of the fun out of the game. Play it like a "you die once, you stay dead" game. If having 1 life in a horror game wouldn't interest you, Amnesia probably isn't for you. You aren't restricted to a single "life", btw.

You didn't end up in a wheelchair, blind, or brain damaged. You had a rather pleasant summer, I assure you.

Hi. I have a DS up for bid that is listed to come with all the original packaging and manuals, ect. I got a note today asking if I'd be willing to simply ship the ds itself because the note sender was just looking for a DS alone. If this person won the bid, and I just sent him the DS, would h be able to cheat me somehow because my listing said manuals included and he talked me into sending just the DS?

Thanks.

I've had a horrible high pitched whistle coming from my pc for over a month now, and I've finally found out what it is. The only thing that gets it to stop is when I stop my video card's fan with a pencil eraser. The whistle goes away completely, but of course resumes once I let the fan continue.

The problem is, when I switched out that card (gtx460) for my old 7900gs, my 7900gs seems to have inherited the EXACT same whistle, and its never whistled before. So now both cards whistle a horrible headache inducing whistle while their fans are going at any speed. The 7900gs whistle stops when I stop the fan as well.

I've also switched around my PSU with another and both cards still whistle.

What I want to know is; how likely is it that my motherboard or PSU is actually slowly damaging the fans of video cards that I install in it?

It just seems to coincidental that BOTH cards start whistling with this new build.

What do you think?

My mobo is an asus m4a77td, and my tested PSU's are a 700w modular ocz, and corsair 650tx. My video cards are dust free, btw.
