@dabear: "We don't know the steam sales numbers. You say "far higher", but you don't know the number."
Play tracker from 3 weeks ago had estimates of over 1 million players on Steam already. And that's only for the people who bought the premium edition. Obviously the game continued to sell since then. Steamspy has it as at least 2 million owners. So yes, we do know the number is far higher than 330k.
"I never reply to you unsolicited. Maybe do some reflection..."
Who cares? I've still barley interacted with you. This is an online forum where people talk to each other, if that's difficult for you to accept maybe you shouldn't post online.
Starfield has, according to official statements by Bethesda and Microsoft, 10 million unique players. Steam only accounts for 330,000 (give or take) of them. Yet, you are going to sit there and tell me that a subset of 3.3% is a proper representation of the entire body?
C'mon, man. Think for a second.
330,000 is the highest concurrent count, meaning highest number of players playing at once on Steam, not the total players on Steam. No clue why you're comparing the two.
I don't care.
The fact of the matter is Steam charts represent a small subset of Starfield players, but people like you are using as a metric for some copium bull crap about waning interest.
You appear to care a lot. I'm not sure how correcting your silly math is coping either. Coping is more like what you're doing here using BS numbers comparisons to deal with the fact that Starfield doesn't have the legs you thought it would.
