why do ATI cards seem to do so well in 3DMark, then when it comes to games they seem to fall flat on thier arse! ever since I purchased my ATI HD 3870, I have fallen for ATI cards, I used to own Nvidia cards for years, and I mean years, I'm 49 and still play games nearly every day, I come from the old school, played on my Commodore Amiga Vic20 for hours and hours, games have come along way since then, and its all thanks to ATI and Nvidia, both companies produce great cards, I remember when Matrox used to be one of the big names, and 3DFX has been taken over by one of the big guns these days. Anyway.....why do ATI do well in 3Dmark, they seem to fall back in Games?

Hi all E3 this year was like the calm before the storm, only, the storm never came, I used to get excited waiting for all the events at old E3, but this new affair is like what most of us seem to think, the coverage was better, but the excitement was not there, I much prefer the E3 of old im sorry to say. Big lights, big noise, big names, big news, it can't be that hard to cater for both, the old and the new E3, let the press have it on day one, and the public on the following three days. I think the editors at GS are forgetting these games are for the public at large, not for them to be sole beneficiaries, they can do their job on day one, then give it to the public on the following three days, we are the people who will make or break the game industry, not the editors of this world, yes, they have a job to do, but don't forget the most important people in the industry, that's US.

Trazac.......stop kissing Nvidias ass man, I have had cards from both these companies and they are both great gfx card makers, but from all the info and all the reviews I have read and seen, it look like ATI have taken the crown again, just wait for the xtx version to come out before you squeal Nvias sweet cheaks all over again. What I don't agree with both these companies is that they are deliberatly forcing the cost of gfx cards ever higher and higher, it so stupid now we have to pay the cost of a consol just for a small part of our computers now, intel and AMD are just as bad as well. All the best you people here at gamespot.

the difference can't really be seen in these low rez images, most certainly not worth installing VISTA crap, and most definately not worth the huge amounts of Spondoolies to get a new gfx card, I have a ATI 1900xt DDR3 512 mb, im happy with this for now, it cost me 6 hundred dollars, it also play every game on the market for now, so why should I bother. The cost of gfx cards has gotten out of hand lately, they are more expensive than consoles now, there seems to be some sort of fiddle going on between Nvidia and ATI in price hikes.

Hi all he he he he he he he........sorry, but listening to those that own an xbox 360 and slag off the ps3, boy oh boy, there are some children here at GS LOL, that also applies to ps3 fanboys slagging of the 360. Look..... both machines are great, the 360 and the ps3 are both very powerfull machines, but I have to confess that the playstation 3 has more modern tech inside it than anything on this planet at the moment, yes....... Sony are a bleeding pain in the AXXX, and they have become complacent with thier customer base, I also think they are way out of line for charging so much for a machine that will sit by the TV in Stand-by mode for 90 % of its life, it's just a shame that it is acting like King-of-the-castle when it has a long way to go. my oldest son purchased an xbox 360, because thats what his mates have all got, and he wants to play with them, I purchased an PS3, because I'm a bleeding crazy techno junky, and I want to have the newest games machine that will still be around in ten years, I also whent out and payed 850 dollars for it, why.......?, because when the euro version comes out, it will not be backwards comparible with 90 percent of ps2/1 games, it will be a stripped down version of the American one, So I purchased an American one, and I didnt even get a Garantee (hope Sony will honor it). I hate Sony for treating the Brits with such a bleeding high price tag when it was very expensive in the first place, I truely hope that Sony gets a bloody good swift kick in the AXXX, maybe then it will remember that without a user base there is no PS3, no matter how much modern junk they slap in their machines. What I am trying to say people, is if Sony can get their Ass in gear then we have a fantastic machine, I dont want to see Sonic running just like it did on the PS1 (I regret purchasing this crap) the gfx in that game are realy bad for modern tech games machine, as for FPS, I tried like hell to play ..... resistance fall of man, man it looks beutifull, but in comparison to my PC, it plays like a whole load of dog SXXX, another game I regreat purchasing, but you live and learn I suppose. As of today, I have not seen a single game I want to play again and again on the PS3, im waiting for "Gears of war" to come to the PS3, and Unreal 3, but I will most likely purchase the PC version, as freedom of movement is 2,000 times better on a PC. I am not knew at games or consules, I was playing on a Commodore Vic 20 many years ago, long before Sony even knew what a bleeding games machine was......... yes I have been around playing games since the birth of the HOME COMPUTER. Anyway, be happy with whatever machine you have, all the new consules are great, ONE MANS MEAT IS ANOTHER MANS POISON.

By the time the ps3 is released, there won't be much left of it, they keep taking bits n peices away, and now the gfx chip is going to lose ten percent of its power, is it realy worht 600 dollars? I have always been excited in the past when a new psx gets released, but this time around, I can't help feeling greed has gone to far, I was going to get one untill I heard the price, now I won't even bother, the next xbox is already in the making, I will wait for that one.

Nvidia fans make me laugh LOL, I used to swear by Nvidia untill I got my first radeon (9800 pro), the radeon 9800 pro was a fantasic card and still is, I can still run all the latest games on it, I now have three machines, one with a geforce 4, and two with radeon gfx cards (9800 pro and x1900xt), I have had three nvidia cards (geforce 2 and a geforce 4 can't remember the first one) in the past, and rightly so where great cards at the time of purchase, but since going to radeons I have to admite, they are brilliant cards, as for the noise factor (fan) on the radeon x1900xt, the only time I hear it is when booting up, I have never heard the noise everyone keeps on bawling about when playing any games, I run Oblivion with everything on, at 1280 X 1024, I realy can't see the point of going any higher, my viewsonic LCD 17inch runs at 1280 X 1024 native. I think both nvidia and Ati make great cards, but doesn't the nvidia cheat to get the frame rates higher! I have to admit, I payed over the top to get my X1900XT (600 US dollars), well....my wife did LOL, and to be honest, it was worth every cent, my radeon is over clock to 650/750, and still the fan never goes into hyper drive, maybe I am lucky and have one of those little beuties that just keeps on chugging, its nice to have competition between these companies, after all we the customer are the winners in the end.

Pc's are always falling in price, and you have the advantage of getting ahead of the consoles every time, people keep saying PC's are dead, well guess what! the PC is till around and kicking consoles butts all the time, yes the price is sometimes high, but look at the cost of consoles...... they get higher and higher every time there is a new console (PS3) Lets not forget what you can do on a PC! : you can't create levels on a console : you can't play music and download/create levels/and burn DVD/and do renderings in the background.... all at the same time.....I can on my PC, and more. Now Pc's even get grat phisics with these new cards comming out, and the options to upgrade are far superior on a PC. Don't get me wrong, consoles have their place, I have a psx 1/2, but no one uses them, they sit in the corner gathering dust, everyone wants to be on the PC in my home, and when Blue-ray arrives, there will always be drives made for the PC. I work on my PC, I cant work on consoles, game players may make a living on consoles, but more people make a living on PC's.
