At the end of they day you've got to buy the system that A) has the games you want to play and B) your friends have so you can play with them and trade/share games.

Brand loyalty is madness. Microsoft and Sony are not your friends or family. You don't have to defend them or help them. Sony fanboys have been buying a system with no games for a year now - that is loyalty to the extreme. Some will see it as an investment but there is no evidence yet that any system selling software/games are coming out yet.

WHY DO YOU CARE IF YOUR CONSOLE SOLD MORE THAN ITS RIVAL. As long as it has been profitable enough to keep going and not do a dreamcast it doesn't matter if PS3 sells half the amount of the 360 or double. The PS3 dieing is what I don't agree with. Sony have a track record of bringing out formats that cost lots and then just died like Betamax, MiniDisc, UMD - I thought blu-ray was going to be next but it looks like it's here to stay. I hope for the sake of the fan boys the PS3 survives too - which it should - but for it to do better than it's rivals will take either a massive price drop or some amazing games or both at the way things stand it is the inferior system.

If your on the fence the only safe bet is a PC as you know that pretty much all the top titles are going to be on that platform and you have near full backwards compatibility.

While xbox360 and PS3 attack eachother Wii will keep getting the most sales and PC will continue to have the most gamers.

A console is only as good as it's games. The xbox was more powerful than the PS2 but for the most part the PS2 had more and better games in most peoples opinion.

Because of Sony's track record I held out from buying an xbox 360 believing that Sony would do it again with the PS3. Now that both systems are out it's made me want to buy the xbox360 more. The selection, quality and even graphics in many cases on the xbox 360 games blow away what's available on PS3 right now.

I don't believe the PS3 is dead though. Even if they never released another game for the platform their would be enough Sony fanboys out there to keep it going for years. However, I believe Microsoft continues to deliver better 1st party exclusives and it's achievements and online have yet to be surpassed and only weakly immitated.

I am currently debating whether to get an xbox360 or a wii or both. The PS3 isn't even tempting right now. Until it has some killer games I don't care how powerful it is. I get to play on all 3 systems anyway whether at work of friends and while it was fun to play a bit of heavenly sword etc. The games that got me to stay up all night playing were Gears of War and Halo 3 - xbox360 exlusives.

The PS2 was first to market and although the xbox did well it never caught it. I think the same will happen here. The 360 came out way ahead and although the PS3 will do well especially in Japan it will never catch up - it has too much against it = The price, The popular wii and an established 360.

If you look at game sales you'll notice that the PS3 is doing even worse than people realise. So many of their units are in warehouses or being used as the poor mans blu-ray player. The last I checked there was an avg of 1-2 games per PS3 unit and an avg of 15+ games per 360 which would indicate that there are more units actually in peoples homes and being used rather than on retailer shelves or warehouses.

Look it's simple math - There are currenly 160 xbox360 games out there which will double to over 300 by this time next year. If you played each of them for an average of 24hrs that's nearly a years worth of non-stop gaming fun. How much action would you get from your girlfriend - 3x 15min sessions a week? = 1.6days of entertainment. There is no contest. lol
