Thanks for the suggestions man. As far as RAM goes, I intend to run multiple Oses(6-10) at the same time with virtualization, I'm not sure if 64 is needed, but I envision that at least half of that would be taken up. Regarding VA panels, I've never had an IPS before but never really noticed any problems with the monitors I've had. How noticeable would you say that 2-4ms difference in response time between VA and IPS is? Dual card setups: With SLI issues in the newest games/drivers being so prevalent, do you think it is worth it to go dual card? Thanks, emistzDrop to 16GB ram, 64 is absurd unless you're rendering the next avatar.
Don't buy a 680, either wait a month for the 700 series or get 2 4GB 670s.
VA panel monitors are bad for gaming due to slow response times. For this budget you may as well look into 1440p monitors.
For that kind of money get a solid state drive (at least for windows, preferably 250GB and stick some applications on it.
Get a power supply from a decent brand, an 850w will be enough to run basically any dual card setup since they are using less and less power these days.
$4000 is a silly amount, spend $2000 and upgrade in a few years.

Any particular reason why you think it would perform better with 16GB of RAM as opposed to 64GB?Drop down to 16GB RAM,

I actually took a look at the Nvidia Titan, which I believe runs the Tesla chipset- but the price is just out of control. On the processor note, I'll take a look at the AMDs and see what I come up with. I've always been an intel fan but it might be time for a change. To each their own for everything; personally, I went with an AMD 8 core processor for my gaming/normal rig and went with dual Xeons for my workhorse. Even though I am a definately an Intel fan...sometimes their prices urk me. I am also more of a fan of the CoolerMaster HAF case due to the high airflow possibilities (I like the ability to have a larger fan size at lower RPMs to help cut down on fan noise). But honestly, looking at your build list...everything looks pretty good.

[edit] depending on what you get into (in the future) you can research Tesla cards. Although they are still expensive, if you get a lot out of them.
