I am mainly referring to pre-2600. I am trying to find a system to broaden my knowledge and understanding of old school games. I would also like this system to have a decent sized library, and good playability. Are any of those old systems even worth checking out, or am I going to be disappointed? I saw an Intellivision at a used game store for $40. I thought about getting it, but then I remembered my Intellivision Lives! game. I already have so many of the games already, and most of them aren't even all that good.

I found a second model Genesis attached to a second model Sega CD at a Goodwill not too long ago. It was the grand opening and it was hidden under a DDR dance pad. I see those damn pads at every thrift shop I go to. Last week I found Mario 64, Mario Tennis, and a couple other N64 games for $3.00 each. They also had the Game Boy camera and printer which I picked up as well for $3.00. That is a rare find for me. The thrifts by me are pretty bad.

I know that 100 NES games isn't much of a benchmark. I think it's the most of any system I own though. It's the system I've had the longest, and my favorite. Does anyone consider NES Wii VC games as part of a NES collection? I would think no.

I think what I might do is order some of these suggestioins from various websites and whichever one gets here first will be the 100th. It can be a race.

Action 52

Shenmue_Jehuty

haha why? Aside from being very rare, the games on that thing are all crap.

Yea, I watched AVGN's review. It looks horrendous. Ninja Gadien was was popular, I remember that as a kid. Don't remember playing it though...

[QUOTE="ryanweinmann"][QUOTE="elgobbes"][QUOTE="ryanweinmann"] My bad. Usually people put it has Zelda. Well, the reason why I said Final fantasy b/c I saw that you have Dragon Warrior 1-4. Well, anyways I still recommend getting FF even though you not big into rpg. FF is a must have for any NES collection.

Maybe I should ask are you collecting them or you just buying them b/c you love playing retro games? If you collecting them, than FF is a must have for any nes collection even if you don't like rpg or FF. You can find FF pretty cheap either on ebay or amazon. Like I said in one post, I prefer amazon. I usually just go down to cvs and buy a 25 dollar gift card, and put it on my account. I hate putting credit card on any of my internet accounts. I tried FF 7, and never made it past the first disc. It's a shame because it's a non-greatest hits, which I know is somewhat sought after. I would get FF if I saw it, I just haven't seen it anywhere.

I would say both. It would be cool to someday have a complete NES collection, but I don't buy up every game I see just to own them. I do love playing older gen games. They are more like a game, and less like a simulation. I think some newer gamers don't see it that way and it's a shame.

Either Final Fantasy or Zelda

I already own Zelda, and I'm not huge into RPG's. Mainly because I don't have the time to play them.

Yeah, Ballon Fight is great, but I would suggest Battletoads over it.
