i was afraid this was going to happen. even the all mighty Blizz failed to deliver the launch of their most anticipated title in years. I learned my lesson from D3. Unless it is clear that the game company is going to fully support their servers and provide a good launch for customers that have ALREADY PAID MONEY, then i might not ever play server based games again. I'm a lifelong gamer, but recently my faith in the game industry has fallen to new lows. money is king, customer satisfaction and support is a joke.

apparently game companies have all decided to not support their games with enough servers. after all these years of MMOs and other server based games, you'd think that the game industry would get its head out of its ass and invest a little extra money for server support. this is such bs.

so, game companies make these server based games, and then dont provide enough servers for customers that have already paid money to play the game. meanwhile the game company already has your money, so there is not real initiative for the game company to quickly resolve server issues. the customer is expected to suck it up and be a big boy.

this type of corporate behavior is fraud. it's illegal to sell a product that is advertised as something that it actually is not. it seems game companies get a free pass for this type of nonsense, while game industry apologists claim that 'it's just the way things are, so deal with it.' Ok, I will deal with it by not wasting my money on another failed game.

another one bites the dust. too bad.

Please, no fanboys.

After getting burned by the D3 debacle and feeling betrayed by ActiBlizz, I am leery about jumping into a new title. Yes, I know D3 is not an MMO. That is simply a reference to Blizz's failure for a game that could have been awesome, but instead was nothing but lies and fail.

So, i have been researching GW2 and feel tempted to buy it and get in the game. I've played WoW (quit back in 2006) and played AoC from release for about 8 months. I've been off the MMO bandwagon for a long time. So, give me some honest assessments about the good, the bad, and the ugly regarding GW2. Is this something i should get into? Is this a game that I need to be in a guild? Can I play all by my lonesome and still have a good time?
