Yep, Companyof Heroes is a must. I'm not a huge RTS fan, but enjoyed it.

Also, I'm playing Medieval II Total War which is a combo of turned based strategy (think CIV) and huge real-time battles. The TBS makes it bearable for me. Good game

Neverwinters Nights 2 is hard? If I can get through that game then anyone can. I thought it was a great game and has and expansion coming out soon. May want to try it out.

Actually, I just started playing Diablo II for the first time. If you are referring to dark as the lighting, I noticed that too. However, if you adjust the gamma in video options a little it brightens up nicely. you may have to adjust each time you start the game, but it's worth it.

Check out Second Sight. Little older, so it'll be cheap.HauntedOne

Second Sight was the first thing that came to mind too. I really enjoyed that game. Psi-Ops is similar to Second Sight but not quite as good and consistent, but worth playing. So I think you have a few games to select from as follows:

Second Sight

Max Payne 1 & 2 (must play if you haven't - awesome games)

Hitman series

Psi-Ops

Splinter Cell series

Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive

Hammer & Sickle (whoa - they were way off base on this one)

Thanks. It appears that once you install the expansion that you play only from that disc. Is that correct and can you still start from the beginning?

Finally broke down and bought Diablo - actually the battelchest. I though I was just getting Diable II and the expansion, but the original Diablo comes with it. I have a couple of Diable related questions:

1) Is it still worth playing the original Diablo? Does the story connect to Diablo II in such a strong way that I would really be missing out not to play the original first? I could always come back to it but afraid that the graphics just may be too outdated.

2) Can anyone recommend some critical technical mods that enhance the gameplay, graphics, etc. in Diablo II? I just plan to install a few mods that are recommend as opposed to digging all over the place for them. You help would be appreciated.

Thanks

During that time you missed Silent Storm. I think you might like this superb squad TBS a la XCOM/Jagged Alliance with destructable environments and amazing physics. It's something different from the norm and highly entertaining. Get Silent Storm Gold for the even better expansion. Oh...and it has some role-playing elements and even more so in the expansion.

Your tastes appear to lean more fantasy/sci-fi, but Company of Heroes is a great RTS. I like RTS to an extent, but get jaded by resource management. COH has resource management but it's done in a less taxing way. The combat is fantastic.
