[QUOTE="Ipik_Fenris"][QUOTE="carpon"][QUOTE="dwils"]I'm probably going to get DiRT. It's a different kind of racing game, and I've already got PGR3 which seems too much like Forza to merit spending $60.carpon
PGR is nothing like Forza. They both involve racing cars, but beyond that, they aren't too similiar. The DiRT demo wasn't terrible, the graphics and damage were great, adn the races were fun enough, but the physics were cr*p, i thought. All the cars turned on a central pivot, which makes no sense as no car (hell, not even bicycles) turn on a central pivot. It will be decent enough rent, but I can't imagining meeting the depth or fun of Forza's gameplay. To each his own though.
physiscs were cr*p ??, i didnt know that watching you car tearing appart, watching your door flying around there, window pieces everywhere, was cr*p.....i think those physics are better than the ones in Forza 2, yea forza 2has good physics, you see your car damage, scratched paint...but in DiRT, the damage grows each time you hit, crash, smash your car
I never said the damage physics were crap. In fact I agree they are leaps and bounds better than Forza, at least in terms of external damage. I was talking about the actual driving physics, which are just not that good. The game is still good, and it isn't a huge problem, but the driving physics really annoy me, especially compared to a game like Forza (hell, I liked PGR's driving physics more.)
So basically what you're saying is... you have experience driving rally cars and are familiar with their physics?
Read the manual.
