Im fascinated by how sound can really bring alive emotion when youre watching a movie. Bringing full live orchestras to gaming will just increase the quality of the gaming experience.
Wii U in theory will have more press before then. But hearing about content for it will surely be a large part. I expect MS will start discussion on new hardware, but wont push it until 2013 as they still want to milk the Kinect and try to justify its existance (as it will be integral in the next gen for sure).
The video game industry is no longer a fledgling. Its a serious industry worth a ton of money. So you bet theyre throwing money at PR and presentation. Why do you think this year there were so many "booth babes" this year. But if you look past the media blitz there is exciting gaming going on and as a bigger industry, bigger potential.
Heading toward the end of the life cycles of all the systems, I really hope they bring some nice suprises are way, ie info about new systems. MS and the kinect last year just didnt get me excited. Xbox 720 or whatever they want to call it would.. .
Nice article, its so true reviewing games will be harder and harder. Multiplayer based game are even worse, especially MMORPGS, likey the hardest possible to review. The quality of a MMORPG depends on community and honestly a huge part can be at "end game" or max level when games like WOW felt like they were just beginning. Honestly certain games like this you wont know are good or great until months down the line.
