ASUS P8P67 says on newegg that DDR3 2200(O.C.)*/2133(O.C.)*/1866(O.C.)/ 1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 (* Due to CPU behavior, DDR3 2200/2000/1800 MHz memory module will run at DDR3 2133/1866/1600 MHz frequency as default.)

What exactly is it saying? I am not sure but it doesnt sound good.

Don't worry about it. The Sandy Bridge chips all have their IMC's rated for 1333mhz memory by default, hence why all speeds above 1333mhz are labelled as O.C. But the IMC's can support speeds well above 1333mhz without any damage caused.

so that isnt something specific to the asus board then? but rather the sandybridge chips, and are they talking about overclocking the memory? if im not worried about overclocking the memory should I just look for DDR 1333? sorry man iv'e been out of the loop a long time.

What do you use your computer for? Also, a specific budget would help judge what's the best you could get.

Dont have a budget set right now. But I play games, edit photos and once in a while videos, and all the other normal stuff. I am upgrading from a Duo 2 1.8 I have a 9800 GTX+ video card I want to put in the new pc. I want something noticably faster "CPU" but I dont need the best on the market. Just want best intel bang for buck.

Any reason why it has to be Intel? Because if you're not looking to spend a lot of money, then an AMD solution would probably be the most cost-effective solution for you.

Yeah I feel more comfortable with INtel. Not only that but the I5 2500k from what im reading is VERY fast and only $200. Plus the power consumption and heat seems to be really low... IS this the best bang for the buck?

Looking at I7 960, 2600 and i5 2500 now, im looking at reviews, it seems the 2500 i5 is almost as fast as the I7 2600k, is the i5 2500 best bang for buck?
