God of War was a very good game; certainly far better than any of the previous games (sorta like the jump from Witcher 2 to Witcher 3).....very good game....not remotely in the same league as RDR2....not in story, not in vision, not in world creation.....Rockstar set the new benchmark for production quality with world-building that they may, arguably, have already held. Putting God of War in the same class, let alone above RDR2, is fanboy nonsense.

That Gamespot keeps pretending Xbox is "capitalizing" on Sony's decision to not show at E3 (as they have no games to show this year) is pathetic. That is not at all what Phil said.

He said, when Sony announced they were taking a hiatus, Xbox had internal discussions if that means they should scale back from their normal shows to save money, but they decided that didn't make sense and they should be "as big as they have ever been"....that means put forth the same effort as previously.....is there no one at Gamespot that's native tongue is English, are they daft, or simply like spinning a narrative?

Clearly no chance of this occurring. Sony barely has the cash to cover the current market cap of Take-2, not enough for the premium required if there were no other bidders.....and if I recall there is a competitor out there that has been gobbling up studios....and has far, far deeper pockets than Sony....no chance on earth MS would allow this w/o, at a minimum, bidding the price up and out of Sony's reach....now Amazon or Google might take a run as they have the cash to play in this space and want desperately to be there, but it would still be odds-on betting that MS would outbid them.

Try, for a minute, getting passed your righteousness and look at EVERY thread about Bioware games now.....most people, most fans, acknowledge that they have gone far passed "inclusivity" into pandering.....or do you close your eyes and tell you all these people are simply bigots? If the sexuality of the major characters was not important, why was Bioware doing presentations telling the media about the first full-on gay character in video games.....the first trans character....why all the speeches on the issue in-game.....if the sexuality was not an important political message it would not have been there if "their sexuality was irrelevant to the plot".....most actual gamers DO NOT want politics in our games; let alone politics the vast majority of gamers do not agree with.

@teg: No chance; most loved it....LOVED IT. For contrast, most fans LOVED ME2, in spite of the planet-scanning...that was universally hated. There may have been some that didn't enjoy the Mako, but they were def in the minority.

@olddadgamer: Sorry, you're suggesting that the NOMAD was the reason the game flopped? Are you a ME fan at all? NOMAD was far better than the NOMAD in ME1....that game is beloved, including the NOMAD......you may be 1 of the fans that wanted the linear gamestyle, no problem with that opinion....I preferred it in some small ways as well; but to pretend that was the issue.....close them eyes tighter....don't you worry about the truth....you have "your truth" :)

@aross2004: For the record, I have never, in my life, agreed with the EdwardNygma character.....this is the first time....it was the SJW garbage by and large (there were fans that couldn't segue into open-world from linear, but for most of us,......SJW pandering).

@Warlord_Irochi: Not true. Bioware always had gay influences in the company and paid subtle tribute to that in each game with very small NPCs; very few people had any issues with this. Starting with DA:I and then into ME:Andromeda, the company went full-on pandering where 50%+ of the characters (your team) was gay...and included long lectures on trans, gay, etc........if you don't see the issue, you might be one of the few to buy their next iterations.....sad situation, as Bioware were the premier story-tellers out there, hands down. They have gotten rid of some of the issues, so here's hoping they can turn it around.

@untouchables111: lmao....ummm, no one is "allowed" to use cheats....they still do it as (i) it's part of the enjoyment douches get out of gaming, and (ii) statistically you're unlikely to get caught. There have been mass bannings....and Rare just told you how they are going to deal with it....separate the cheaters into their own ecosystem....if you game multiplayer on PC that's the risks you run....leave real gamers alone with your trainers, etc.

@untouchables111: So, you haven't seen any of the streams from PC gamers that is the cause of this change from Rare....might want to take a look....and dear god yes, it still happens all the time....that it is a minority of PC gamers doesn't change that fact.....few bad apples and all that.
