Does anybody have any tips on how I can improve at solving puzzles quicker, improve my reflexes with the controller, and just generally become a better gamer?

I have an old laptop that can play ps2/xbox games that were ported to PC. Anybody have a list of good game recommendations from that PS2/Xbox era that were ported to PC?

Ive played them all (playing Vice City now), and I'm having a blast. The quests seem more addictive/difficult in VC. There are some quests in VC that you have to do 20+ times to pass -- where in GTA IV, and GTA 3, I was able to get by many of the quests in only a few tries.

It doesn't bother me at all that people choose to buy this. What bothers me is the precedent it sets. Rarely does something like this happen one time and everybody goes on about their businesses. This falls in line with the over-abundance of DLC infiltrating any and all games these days.

How much more will gamers continue to take? What happened to getting the full-experience for the standard retail cost? Those days are long gone .. and off-the-chart-profit-making DLC like this is the reason why.

I haven't ran into a DLC situation yet where the consumer truly benefited. Because of the profitability of DLC .. marketing executives are impacting the way talented game designers design games and the industry has become watered down because of it.

Alien Soldier, Sega Genesis

You get 3 lives to beat the entire game. If you die, you start all over. The game is boss-driven too -- constantly in epic boss battles and they get tougher and tougher each stage.

Awesome game none the less.

Wow ... this game is so much fun. It's on par with the some of the best 2d platformers ever (Super Mario World 1 & 2 on the SNES). Actually, given that the game has 2.5d graphics, with really cool 32-bit level design, while being able to keep everything that was fun about those original SNES Mario games, I would say it's even better. Controls are great, story is great, unique characters/baddies are great, sound is great, and the puzzles are just right in terms of their difficulty. This game does not get the attention/recognition it deserved. A real timeless classic on the original playstation. I HIGHLY recommend it -- even to gamers not that big of a fan of the genre.

Klonoa (psx) is also a great game that fits this criteria. I played it for the first time this week and am having a blast. I'm on section 3 so far ... and the level design is fantastic. Takes great things from Super Mario World 2 .. and even pandemonium with the 2d.5 style.

What are some games that came out 10, 15, and even 20 yrs ago that haven't been antiquated by technological advancements in graphics and game mechanics?
