Who, pray tell, is going to pay for a patch for a game that is past its retail window? Who, pray tell, is going to make a patch for a game when the developer went out of business six months earlier. I have ~350 games in my collection. By the numbers here, ~120 of them might not work. Is it Microsoft's job to fix every single game that's come out since '95? Of course not. Kill a full third of the world's library of games? That's a different story, especially since half of those games aren't really 'legacy' titles - they're fairly recent. I am, of course, hoping that by the time the OS and drivers are released (and six months or so go by before I'm ready to purchase it), thos numbers will have changed.
