Gears 2 looks better then gears 1 so how is it maxed out?

Medic_B

Welcome to fanboy logic.

I think Uncharted maxed out the PS3 for sure! (that was a joke)

No, the timing is not right to sell your 360. If that were to ever happen, it would be in 2010 but I'm doubting that.

My thoughts are that I'm not interested and they should've gone with a less played out war like Vietnam or Korea, or maybe even the Spanish Civil War or WWI.

You know what I always wanted? A Revolutionary War shooter. Not necessarily a Call of Duty game, but they could seriosly make some sweet stuff out of that. Think "The Patriot".

Thoughts are that this is like 2 weeks old. And I'm sick of people complaining about it being in WW2. IT"S IN THE PACIFIC!!!!! There's been like 2 games set in the Pacific threatre of WW2 and on of them was Rising Sun which sucked. Plus if they'd set this in Modern Warfare, next year you'd all be moaning when they announced another one for the Iraq war, "OMG not another one im so sick of desert whaaa whaa whaa!!"bobbetybob

No, but it's also set in Russian and in "the ruins of Berlin" according to the source. The thing about CoD4 is that it wasn't just set in "fake-Iraq", it was mostly in Russia. There's not much you can do in WW2 that hasn't been done before, but there's still plenty in modern warfare that Call of Duty hasn't explored.

...and it's back in WWII. It's called Call of Duty: World at War. They've taken Call of Duty back to World War 2. This time they're promising a more mature theme, improved multiplayer, vehicles, and co-op. My source is Xbox Live.

I, personally, am angered by this because I don't want another World War 2 shooter, but the coop sounds awesome.

Thoughts?

Here's what I hope will happen. I know I will be mad if all of the gamerpics I bought suddenly become useless. I don't Microsoft would do this. I think these new "Miis" are part of something biggger. Maybe a Home-like service? Maybe these Miis will be integrated into future games. I hope it's part of something bigger, like I said, and not just a cheesy add-on.

Government can do whatever they want with my tax money. They really don't ask for that much to live wherever you live. Sure, there are some places that it is absolutely ridiculous how much you have to give and that's just wrong, but places like the US and Brazil (where I live, but I'm American)... it isn't that bad. We get enough benefits that paying taxes is OK in my books. I'm pro taxes going down and the government doing less than it is. You can say that the government gives assistance to the poor all you want, which comes from us the people, but the problem is still there. No system can ever be perfect, but we should do what we can to at least make it better. It really isn't that ridiculous and the more you do, the better things can get. Our world is seriously screwed up; everything sucks. You might as well find something to smile about. And the best smiles come from giving someone else one.

Which is why I advocate creating living wage jobs....giving training/school and then putting people in the workforce. Much better for everyone concerned and a better use of tax dollars.

I think we agree here, it's just taking us a while to figure it out. Yeah, give a man a fish and he's fed for a day (you've said that)... But do think: a man has to eat three meals a day and there are those who phyisically can't do anything about getting a job whatsoever. I'm not going to propose something, I'm just going to say that there has to be some kind of balance between both sides of that metaphor. Don't just teach the man how to fish, feed him until he can fish.

But this will be the end of our discussion. It's 11 here and I need some rest. Nice discussion, though.

I guess that's the beauty of it. You don't have to care for others if you don't want to. But going out of your way to give someone else a way... there's really nothing better. I'm not saying everyone in the world should have to adopt a kid or donate a few hours to a retirement home everyday, but we should all do our part. Even in little things. Putting a dollar in that Salvation Army bucket every now and then or giving away your old things goes a longer way than most would think. I agree, sometimes it's just too much on your plate that you don't need but eating that extra piece of bacon just to make the chef feel happy about himself is worth it.

Taxes say otherwise since a good amount goes to assistance.

Exactly. It's an opportunity and even a privelege to help someone else get through school. Putting a smile on someone's face is much better than getting one yourself. I've been one to have a lot of both opportunities and priveleges and I'm thankful for those. I think it would be ridiculous and selfish for me not to share these gifts and that's why I don't understand this thread... Maybe I have too much faith in humanity.

It's a burden having to care for others.....especially since most are physically able to support themselves. I do have my own family to raise...I don't need someone else's that was too irresponsible as to have children they can't care for.

[QUOTE="darthzew"] It all has more to do with what we do with our opportunities and priveleges. Everyone has them but it's what we do with them that counts.

LJS9502_basic

But working to put yourself through school doesn't make one privileged...it means one is taking advantage of an opportunity.;)
