I dunno, I think Link would look real funny playing a mandolin (like Link's italian cousin Linkguini or something hehe). Yeah, instead of the Sun's Song, he would sing something like O Sole Mio :P On the other hand, you could do some fun stuff with a stringed instrument...
I still think the best was the ocarina and should probably come back :P
