This is more about our government wishing to further regulate an industry as a means of to increase revenue. Nancy Pelosi just said the other day that she would like to find another TRILLION in revenue (without cutting any spending whatsoever.) This is a prime time for the government to step in and justify regulations.
I don't hear anyone talking about the reverse: that "violent" games can also fulfill a person's satiety for aggressive behavior, allowing them to get some stress off from playing video games.
Game companies are really losing their touch with what gamers really want, and replacing it with what corporate executives want (micro transaction, season passes, things to keep the money flowing). I completely understand this from a business perspective, but many of these AAA games are becoming less and less worth the price tag.
