Morica_, a Redditor, is developing an application that will allow magic spells to be added to Minecraft. Even though the plugin is in its infancy there's plenty to it. The final spell is particularly stunning, since it blasts a chunk of the world and leaves a mess in its aftermath.
If you like the idea you can play around with the EpicSpellsPlugin available on Github and then launch it in Spigot. Spigot, a special kind of server, permits you to use these plugins and play with the game to a lesser extent. If you've not used one before, this is as good a moment to learn more about them.
Be aware that this plugin is still very early in its development, meaning that you can't cast spells with commands at the moment. Morica_ is also looking for individuals to help in the development of the plugin should you be skilled enough to do such things and have the time.
