Ya Know, only a console player would start this thread.  Just becuase you don't see many games out on the shelves doesn't mean that PC Games are dying.  It's the younger generation that has made console games popular and the younger people that waste their money on something that only lasts 5 hours, whereas, PC gamers don't have to buy a new game daily just to keep our interest.  Also PC games are being bought online now, cheaper.  Geez people get a clue, just becuase you read something or hear a rumor doesn't mean that it is true.

To the people that say pc games aren't slowing down, oh my god, I just have to laugh. That is the most pathetic statement I've heard in awhile. PC games are slowing in large amounts. Don't give me that crap about being around. I was playing games before games had graphics. Everything goes through cycles. Right now the cycle is favoring consoles and comps are slowing down. Give it a few years and that will change. Up untill Sup. Commander and Jade Empire SE came out, there just hasn't been much. I won't include online games cause they suck as much as consoles. In fact it had been so long since I even saw a game worth buying, I was starting to go through withdrawls. Even the stores will admit that pc games are coming in at a much slower rate. It sucks but it will pass. Consoles are becoming cheap computers, so it wont be too long before the two simply merge. They're already using hard drives, modems, intragrated sound and video made by our own computer suppliers (nvidia, ati creative,etc...). Sounds like a cheap computer to me. So suck it up. We'll be back ontop of the food chain before too long. wallydog63

Don't agree with that statement at all about games slowing down, geez there is alot of games that come out on a regular basis.  Yes alot of them are worth the cost, play the demo's they might just surprise you.  I could also hazard a statement and say that some of us have been there from the start too, not like that's anything special.  lol.

You know Vista like most of the microsoft products are overrated, I have Vista so I can comment on this with certainity.  I bought new computers not even a month ago, and when doing so I reviewed Vista on the demo computers that were set up with the graphics that were "Just so great, Look how this seems so real" I must say microsoft makes a big deal of something, then when you buy it you find out that it is all hype.  Probably the same way with Halo 2, geez I am not impressed with 99 percent of microsoft products.  But like everyone else they have to market it with the hype, and it wouldn't sell if they said "Hey, look at Halo 2, it sucks just like the first one" :)  I also don't understand what the fuss is about making everything Vista, hell the industry had to do it when every new Windows version came out.  That's life.  Everyone has a opion, some are just more vocial than others.

I have a network, and I dont really think one disk will cut it.  You will probably need 2 disks.  We are talking about a microsoft product that you are trying to play.  They require the code to put the game on your computer, and he will probably have to have a different copy to play.  It's a good question though, to bad I threw my copy away long ago when it kept on crashing on me, or I could answer with more certainty

Very sad state of affairs.

World of warcraft as a game sucks, as a community its second to none.
Why are people obsessed with buying games online? When i buy a game i want a hard copy not a data transfer copy.
The U.S market is now swaying towards the consoles, so alot of PC devs in the US are moving to consoles although in europe PC's are still a strong force.
Also in america there is a general obsession with multiplayer games. Its like a Korean or Chinese mentality that if there is no multiplayer then we aren't buying it. Its a console mentality also as many 360 owners are not happy that Oblivion is a single player game and Virtual fighter 5.
With me coming from Europe though consoles suck big time. I have been playing Supreme commander for the last few weeks. I haven't touched gears of war for months since its first month of purchase. I have 13, 360 games and i keep turning to my pc and so far supreme commander kicks consoles good and proper.

I suppose the moral is PC gamers need to start buying more. Is it the quality of software?? Nope, far from it although PC games aren't comming out as thick an fast as they uaed to be the ones released last year were quality games albeit with bugs galore. Piracy and hardware costs are killing the PC industry and the only ones to change it are Pcgamers.

Although WoW have done alot fo PC games the linear structure is a kick in the ribs for creativity and AI. And those that think Starcraft is a better game that TA are on drugs. And those that think diablo 1+2 is better than Baldurs gate are on drugs too.
ardylicious

I agree wholeheartedly.

Seems some people like blizzard and some don't, well I dont waste my money on them anymore, graphics aren't really that great, and it seems to be the same thing.  Play a map, defeat the bad guys or a group of bad guys, different name same thing.  You know the same thing that you blizzard fans are saying about EA games...... So flame away, I know you will.  WE all have types of games we like and games and developers we don't, hell I play anything that looks interesting and yes I have played blizzard and own a few (they are collecting dust now, becuase they all have the same theme).  Some of us like variety some don't.

They should package it with windows vista. I will buy it when it goes in the 20 buck basket. Sully28

I heard that.  Just give it six months to a year, it didn't take long for Halo to hit the "Darn we charged to much for it, now we overstocked so here it is for 20 dollars, please buy it"  :)   Considering I wasn't not really impressed with Halo when I bought it.  But then again I will be honest, it crashed like everyother day and I am not impressed with most microsoft products, but I do play them.  I will also say this about system requirements, if you will notice that every year the computer industry comes up with new tech. so the gaming industry makes the games according to the new advances.  Now its Vista, same argument happened with XP, 98, 95, etc.

Been using steam for awhile now, never had a problem.  I even transfered steam to a new computer this year, it was orginially on my piece of crap laptop, never had a hitch, steam just updated itself the first time I started it.  It has never caused my computer to crash, never glitched.  Yes it is annoying taking a couple of minutes weekly to update it, but that is better than it messing up isn't it???  I have also found the support forums full of usefull information.  Hey no complaints on this end,and overall Steam is a whole lot better than alot of platforms that I have used over the years.  Everyone complains about something that they use at one time or another, but why do we all still use it?? Because, when us gamers find something worth playing we will find a way to play it.  Think of a it like our drug of choice, pc games, video games, etc.  they are addictive.
