I am a prospective PS3 buyer looking for the cheapest place to turn to for the system. I can afford the MSRP, but, I would much prefer something cheaper than that. I'm looking at making the jump for MGS 4, so I'm just looking at the cheapest source for a system at this point.
A 1/450 chance is not that high but we'll probably have something by then. We can already use nukes to put it off course, though.DeeJayInphinity
No, I don't consider that bad. Nukes may work, the problem is if it doesn't just knock it off course, and shatters it into many pieces, will have hundreds of fairly large chunks of rock raining down on us. Not as bad, but not the best circumstances either.
I don't know if anyone has heard, but the asteroid that supposedly had a 1/45000 chance of hitting earth in 2036 actually has a 1/450 chance. This is, to be sure, not an absolute certainty, and certainly a scary prospect. Of course, in almost 30 years, the technology may be there to prevent it from hitting the Earth. Nevertheless, its n interesting, and slightly scary, prospect.

BassKreator
Because theyve been done to death.
Not reall on the 360, if you look at it:
WW2 shooters:
COD 2
COD 3
Hour of Victory
Medal of Honor: Airborne
(The reason turning point isn't here is its not actually set in the real WW2)
Modern Shooters:
GRAW
GRAW 2
R6V
R6V2
COD 4
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
Battlefield: Bad Company
Conflict: Denied Ops
Soldier of Fortune: Payback
Really, modern outnumbers WW2. Always has, its just that most WW2 games, for whatever reason, seem to get a higher profile.
You mention WWII 360 games and for Modern you put 360 and PC but not for WWII whys that? You know how many MOH/WWII games came out for PC?I only put games that appear on the 360. Some may appear on both, but all of those are on the 360 as well.
I agree with shrome on this matter, EA is trying to monipolize gaming which is terrible for gamers, they don't care about making a good game they care about making money, look at take two they turned down A BILLION dollars from EA. EA just buys out the competition so they can turn out a terrible game that people are going to buy because its the only one.
EA=bad for gamers
EA=good for morons
ajax_on_fire
So they are running a good business and thats bad? Yes, EA doesn't develop tons of great games internally, they tend to buy studios that develop good stuff (Dice-Battlefield, Criterion- Burnout, Bioware/Pandemic- Mass Effect, Mercenaries, etc) or publish games such as Orange Box and Rock Band that let the developers focus more of their resources on making a great game rather than on marketing, publishing fee, manufacturing costs, etc. Yeah they do yearly sports games, but other than that, they tend to stay away from yearly stuff.
That brings up a better point, why does everyone forget Activision? We reached our 9th Tony Hawk last year, while EA did something and good with skate. They've already pledged Guitar Hero IV and COD 5 this year. Are these games really necessary? Not at all. I've never really had a problem with mainstream sports getting yearly updates, even if roster updates would cover it, because no one makes you buy every iteration. Each year evolutionary steps are taken so that every couple years the games are better. I, for examply, only buy Madden about every 3 years (I gamefly in-between). Yet its series like Guitar Hero and Call of Duty that don't need yearly updates. Rock Band has proven song down loads are very feasible, and COD 4 will remain popular whether or not a new one comes out. Its completey unneeded.
