@plus_1: Elite: D has changed so much since it launched. It's not empty any more. I almost miss it being empty. The galaxy is now at war. It's scary, and vicious, and 'mercenary'. No Man Sky was perhaps the most rubbish game I ever played. They have so long to go and I don't trust them. I trust Elite, it's constantly growing. It's been 3 years now, and they have done well. It's been 5 years for NMS, and all you can do is mine resources. Coma gaming. And if Star Citizen gets released before 2020, call me Schmo, fiddle with me, and cut my hands off (please don't quote me on this, but it feels unlikely, it's a scam)
Dear profaning Monkey Lord, this comment thread is well farked, please forgive us. The chaste prostrates, despite their apparent self held notion of sophistication, cannot count. They only said Fark about 5 times. I've heard more Faaarking in a child's playground. Neo bleeding moralists, they are. Go play Asteroids.
@hawkensha: You probably don't want to know re. Xbox (or PS4). My 3 year old PC is more powerful than an XBox One (it's mid-range). But yes, it runs 1440p as standard at 60fps. The point, imo, however, is not that anything is good or shit, just that standards are rising very quickly. Which is why you're seeing console manufacturers already releasing updates to their original boxes, and why PC owners don't like consoles for their inability to upgrade.
@groowagon: cool, thanks for the info, very useful. My post was slightly back to front and I noticed that after I posted; didn't mean SSD for data, rather just as a system drive, but yeah, in any case, you'd still need the SSHD or HDD for storage. What about just having an SSHD for both? Would that be a sensible tradeoff with noticeable performance benefits?
@drizzygadget: This is quite high-end, and includes everything. You wouldn't need to purchase a new version of each of these items every time you upped your graphics card, for example. Also, you do realise that the XBox and PS4 are basically PCs that can't be upgraded?
@hengstkse: Totally agree re. the motion controller, as well as controllers with screens. I find all these additions remove my sense of experience rather than enhance it. Go back to basics, Nintendo, with VR now accessible in the home, we'll have enough gadgetry.
