Microsoft are so full of it. The PS4 has SUPERIOR hardware, that costs MORE money and yet they are selling it for $100 dollars cheaper. Kinect is the most gimmicky lame addition to ever grace the gaming world!
@mikajoakkinen Hmm yeah, you're right if you buy a brand new gaming PC it will run you $1000 to play this on very high, but after than it's like 200 bucks every two years to keep up. It's really not that expensive, the processor and gfx card are all that really need to be upgraded and processors can usually go 5 years, gfx cards can go 3 years. So, break that down, it's like around $100 bucks a year to be able to play games that makes consoles look like N64. Fair trade if you are a real gamer...
I mean seriously this or any online video showing the difference between PC and console just does not do it justice. This game looks BETTER than any of the PS4 screenshots that I've seen, this game requires a MORE powerful graphics card to run than is in the PS4. The GTX 680 is at least 2x as powerful as the AMD card that will be in the PS4. Granted, the advantage of consoles is that they will squeeze every little bit of power and efficiency out of them. Maybe one day, late in the console cycle you will see a game that looks as good as this one does on a very high end PC. You really have to see it with your own eyes rendering on a gaming PC to see the difference and with games like this the difference is HUGE.
I meet the "recommended" requirements, but I know this game is going to hurt.. it's a shame it's not very good and functions pretty much as just a benchmark.
At this current time, I'd say that maybe 1 out of every 3 AAA titles properly utilizes the power of the PC. Most are better, but not nearly as good as they should be. It is simply a better gaming experience for many games playing with a controller on a big ass HDTV on your couch than it is hunched over at the monitor. I use my controller for my PC and play games on my HDTV, so I have the best of both worlds. Online shooters are far more competitive on the PC, but I have to admit games like COD are simply better on Console.
To be fair, even a $300 PC can produce graphics that make the current consoles look like N64. The consoles always get better graphics with age, no matter what their components are. The developers learn tips and tricks how to maximize their potential over time. PC does not have this advantage as everyone's PC is a little bit different, so they have to come up with a more universal strategy. This is the reason why PC's, including mine, are about 5-7 times more powerful than consoles and the games only look about 3 times better at best. I guarantee that these consoles will have either the equivalent of a high end 500 series nvidia card or a low end 600 series. Remember, manufacturers only pay a fraction of what consumers pay for components.
Totally off topic, but man do these new consoles need to come out. Xbox 360 was released in 05'. After playing some recent PC games on a nice rig, going back and playing on these ANCIENT consoles is really jarring. Both platforms should release them this year!
Well, if anyone actually played GTAIV on PC you would know that it was a pretty shoddy port. The graphics weren't that much better and you needed a killer system to run it at its best.
@devastion913 @Seifer24 I only have PS3 so I also really wish this would come to PC. The reason PC gamers are considered whiny is because they are frustrated, understandably so, when developers simply port an exact replica of the game over to PC, with none of PC's vastly superior tech. All we want is some decent graphics options and mouse support, really not too much to ask is it?
