Probably most excited in: StarCraft II (all 3 of em :P) Diablo III Modern Warfare II Battlefield Bad Company 2 (although I'd prefer a BF3) Bioshock 2 Natural Selection 2 Half-Life 2: Episode 3

Video game addiction is real. As of now, I am not a video game addict (although I am playing more and hours hours per week). I do have several friends that are addicted to video games, and it has affected their studies, and has taken a toll on their physical health. I believe that if you can have a balance of study/work, social life, physical activity, sleep, and gaming, it doesn't really matter how long you play.

I can see this comment being rated down. Whatever. Kids will say that the consoles are so much cheaper than PCs. Very true, but a PC has MUCH more functionality than any console on the market. So a $1000 investment in a pretty good PC is better than a $300 console, and a $700 crap PC. Also, most games play better with a M/K (especially strategy, and shooters), and some play better with controllers (sports, platformers, etc...).

Hmm, not liking that it is not backwards compatible with LGA775. The new quads are about $800-$1000. Great technology, but the price is ridiculous. Right now, the Spider platform looks better, and much more affordable.

I am quite happy with the performance of my X1950 Pro 256MB (5200+, and 2GB RAM). I am running the demo at 1024x768 on Low Settings, with Shaders (the most important) on high, and Water and Shadows on medium. I'm getting an average of 27-33FPS, with some lag spikes of 16-22FPS. It looks pretty good, and I don't have to spend over $150 to play it. I just hope it stays the same for the retail version, which I think will.

I like VALVe. The only problem is that they are a bit gready (not these people, but the executives). I know you may be like, well they gave us 5 games for the price of 1, but couldn't they have just sold you the Black Box?

I'm surprised that the 7900GS could beat the X1950Pro in most tests. Usually the very opposite. Maybe the 7900GS was overclocked? @MetallicA53 Wait. The current high-end DX10 cards cannot run DX10 very well. I doubt the GeForce 9 series GPUs are coming out during the holiday season, and I would wait for the ATi cards, since they are usually better (X1950>7950, X800>6800, 9800>FX5950) a a pretty big margin. Obviously they (HD 2900XT) aren't that great this generation, but wait for ATi to pull up the big guns some time soon. But if you really can't wait, get a ATi Radeon X1950XT (or the Pro if you can't afford the XT). They perform VERY well for the price. I could play Bioshock at 1440x900 at high settings at 45fps on average with my X1950Pro. Amazing for $150. I don't find the reason to buy an 8800GTS, and definitely not the HD 2900XT right now. Buy them once the next gen cards come out, then they will dramatically go down in price.

@ aussie_gamer13 RAM doesn't cost $200, you can get 2 1GB stick of RAM for $125. Plus an ATi Radeon X1950Pro can play this at 1440x900 at high settings at 45fps average. Then a processor, motherboard, hard drive, DVD Drive, and PSU. AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ ($100), a mobo that supports socket AM2 ($70-100), 2x1GB of RAM ($125), a 160GB HDD ($70), DVD Drive ($40), Sparkle 400W PSU ($40), ATi Radeon X1950Pro ($150). Thats a total of $595, and it is quite powerful too, and will last you for about 1.5 years to come.

There isn't much difference in both versions. If you coughed up the money for a powerful card, it will look better than the 360, but if you didn't spend much it isn't going to be that big of a difference. The game is quite optimized, I could play it with a 2 year GPU at low resolutions and it still received some nice frame rates. I think the 360 version is a bit better because of the achievements, but again you are paying $10 less for the PC version. Whatever medium you are playing this game, you are going to enjoy this game alot.

X1950 Pro still can put about 30fps at 1600x1200 at high settings. Thats not bad. I'm happy.
