@Lach0121: Yeah, I think he looks great, and the fact that our first look at him is the same scene we first encounter him in the actual game, are giving me a bit more hope than I had for the first two films.
@daidochus: Aww, thank you for the kind words. And don't worry, I'll be authentically thirst-posting about my man PH until I finally shuffle off this mortal coil for good. Like, this is currently hanging on my bedroom door. I'm in it for the long haul at this point, lmao.
@jerusaelem: I'm hoping since Gans is directing (both films sucked, but his sucked less IMO) and they're actually adapting a specific game instead of just throwing a bunch of random SH characters into a movie together, we might get something halfway decent. PH does not exist without James Sunderland, and he has no business showing up in films where James isn't also on the screen. I feel like they just used PH in the first two movies because his design is so striking, but they paid no attention to what he truly represents, why he exists, or how he exists. James' guilty conscience effectively created him, so PH has no business terrorizing characters like Heather Mason, or anyone but James, really. It cheapens his presence when they just use him as the default boogeyman for whatever clusterf*ck of a plot they've thrown together and leave James's role out of it entirely.
@stickemup: I'm really hoping that since they're actually adapting the plot of one specific game, it might be decent. The first two films just kinda threw a bunch of characters in together and it made no sense. The cop from SH1 has no business showing up in a movie with Pyramid Head, especially when that film doesn't include James Sunderland. PH doesn't exist without James, and I hate the way the movies just kind of used him as a creepy, vaguely sexy set piece to get butts in seats while paying zero attention to what PH really represents.
@felipe1: Aha! So that's the problem with my workout--I haven't been skipping leg day, I've been skipping "lug around a human-sized sword" day. No wonder I don't have abs!
@daidochus: Agreed. Neither movie was a work of art, but the first one felt much, much closer to the SH game vibes we all know and love than whatever TF the second film was. Hoping we get something worthwhile with this new one, knowing they plan to actually adapt a specific game instead of being like, "IDK, just throw some fog and monsters and shit in there and make sure Triangle Face has a few scenes."
@silentmind: I mean, he's pretty much always been muscular. Maybe not super ripped, but I certainly wouldn't call his in-game model (or Ito's concept art) "chunky."
That said, I would 110% bang Pyramid Head, so it's possible I'm slightly biased here in terms of his looks.
@Nintendo316T: Ha, I remember one of the first patches for the game was specifically to make him less thirsty because he was basically accosting people on their first long rest.
