@Jag85:

I find that hard to believe, especially Star Wars. Franchise includes everything from videogames, toys, comics, licensed books, etc. You mean to tell me Pokemon exceeds Star Wars in this? I somehow doubt that.

Gross revenue:

Star Wars - $42 billion (movies, games, toys, comics, books, etc.)

Pokemon - $60 billion (video games, card game, anime, toys, etc.)

I'm going to ask what the TC asks of me. Evidence of this?

The publishers have never been worse. The gaming industry is getting bigger, not smaller, and we've seen how many studios shut down this gen? Like 40?

There are clearly games being made that should never have been green lit, getting a mid-tier developer to make an expensive CoD clone with crappy servers and half the framerate is not a good business idea and its not what consumers want, and they do it all the time.

You very rarely see unique or original games outside of indie projects, and thats where alot of the smaller developers should be at.

just my opinion.

crimsonman1245

There have been over 200 developers shut down this gen big and small.

[QUOTE="bogorad"]

[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"] As godly as Rogue Leader 2 was, it was clear as day by Rogue Squadron 3 that they were running out of ideas. I mean the f*cking battle of hoth AGAIN? AGAIN? They were fantastic games, but man did they use the license in some lame ways beyond all the cool ships you got to use.

Anyway my pick is Bizarre Creations, because I don't care much for racing games, but PGR 4>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>like all of them this gen. That game was awesome.

Rare: Contrary to the idiot collective of System Wars who insist on being wrong all the time. Rare actually did plenty of good stuff under microsoft. Viva Pinata was f*cking awesome, and I adore what Nuts and Bolts was doing. And now they are the Kinect Sports company. *sigh*

Starbreeze: Escape from Butcher Bay would make a pretty damn good case for having one of the all time best FPS campaigns, and I love what they did with the original Darkness. And then they made Syndicate. I'm gonna assume it's all downhill from here.

For Starbreeze,most of the original team left for MachineGames,so thats why they haven,t been the same.

Sweet, they make anything yet? Although Starbreeze was a way better name.

Supposedly,they are working on a action fps game,using the id tech 5 game engine,you can look it up.My guess we should expect an anouncemnt next year.

RIP Game Republic. Folklore was a damn good game. Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom was pretty cool too. Youre games may not have been the best but they were certainly unique.

Capitan_Kid

Well Tango Gameworks hired a lot of employees from Game Republic when they closed,so there,s that.

Ok its going really bad now the stock had dropped by 22% today now at 1.17 and THQ is only worth about 8 million dollars now.Looks like they will be Bought by Crestview Partners LLC(the company witch THQ hired to help them with strategic and financing alternatives) by the end of the year.
