Forza Motorsport 3. I don't usually play racing games, but this one is unreasonably addictive...

they should, but bear in mind that some scenarios/areas of the game may be more taxing than others. LoG-Sacrament

oh yeah, true. Like if it's an FPS you might come across a huge setpiece or something that drags the framerate down. But... .4ghz isn't that much of a difference, so I'd go ahead and take the chance anyway.

If the demo runs on your computer and you're happy with the framerate, graphics quality, etc. then the full game should work just fine.

I admit that there are plenty of technologically illiterate people who can benefit from this service. The moral issue is that Best Buy is taking ADVANTAGE of their ignorance, realizing that these people have no idea what the services are actually worth. Sure, in a free market you can charge whatever people will pay. But that doesn't mean I have to approve of the behavior. You could describe shady used-car salesmen in the same way.

edit: why does gamespot keep stealing my spaces??

I don't know if it's a scam exactly, but my local geek squad's incompetence verges on the criminal. They had my gf's laptop in to fix a battery problem and managed to LOSE THE HARD DRIVE. Yes, they not onlyremoved it for no reason, but they then somehow put the computer back together without noticing, gave it back to her, AND managed to lose the HDD by the time she realized what had happened. Along with years' worth of her pictures, music, etc. It boggles the mind. That alone is enough for me to stay far, far away from any geek squad I come across.

Also, someone mentioned "CoD of the Month." It's a good point actually... the strategy of creating a constant stream of new titles might be good for sales, but it's really bad for online multiplayer.

Forza 3 is the only x360 racing game I've played, but for what it's worth, it has turned me into a total addict

Trust me. I would NOT have missed these streaks if they were there when I pulled it out of the box. I am pretty sure my theory is right and it is just cosmetic. The fact that I noticed them after quite a long Black Ops session was what got me started on the heat damage possibility. Those streaks REALLY look like something was "melting."

...and in truth something probably WAS. Yes. Something alcohol based on a glossy finish WILL make the gloss melt away and "run."

Sweet, I hope that's the case. Good luck-

I would be *highly* surprised if your box could get hot enough to melt the gloss on the OUTSIDE of the box without destroying the much more sensitive electronics inside (ie, you can still play games right?). My best guess without looking at it, is that it's just a cosmetic defect that you didn't notice when you pulled it out of the box.
