Thanks. i have a HD flat screen tv, that's 720p and 16 by 9 aspect ratio. When the tv's set to just scan, the playstation home screen is 4 by 3. It's only plugged in through hdmi. I've been pressing wide to fill the tv. It could be because I have an older HD tv.

thanks. I guess it's normal then. Another annoying thing is that with my tv zoom set to normal the ps3 seems to output 4 to 3 ratio with using hdmi. I have to set my tv zoom to wide to fill the tv, and I couldn't find any aspect ratio settings in the ps3 menues.

i just want to know if this is normal or not. I'm using HDMI, and when in insert a new game before the game loads, there is a static screen, white noise that fills the tv before the game begins. is this normal, or do I have a bad hdmi cable. it was know, and cost 24 bucks. Thanks for any help.
