Regarding the prices, I live in Canada, and only trusted sites i would buy online would be www.ncix.com or www.tigerdirect.ca.

I most liekly buy it locally at www.memoryexpress.com (there site).

Newegg doesnt ship to Canada which sucks.

Also, I actually might consider gettin the GTX 260+ (the 55 nm revesion) which will come out in Sept..

hey, havnt posted awhile in these forums for advice, but thinking of upgrading my videocard to a 260 GTX or 4870. I can get both of them for the same price ($300), I am just wondering what are the pros/cons of each card.

From what I've heard, the 4870 is having issues with drivers, heat issues (but can be fixed with fan speed fix, but temps of VRM are sitll an issue), and doesnt overclock as much (found bout 820/1050 it most stable it can be without volt modding it (with volt mod you can push it to 900). But the 4870 does beat out the GTX 280 is some reviews in gaming benchmarks.

With the GTX 260 it runs cooler, and overclock well without much hassle (can bring it from 575 to up 680, with some reports going up to 740, bringing it up to or surpassing gtx 280 levels). it generally runs cooler as well. But in some benchmarks in some games, the 4870 blows the 260 gtx and even 280 gtx out of the water.

I am not sure about power consumption , but that isnt really an issue with my setup (but its good to know which is generally better).

Anything else I should know?

Thanks!

hey, my friends just connected the bridge connector to two of his radeon 4870.

Now he doesnt know how to enable it on his PC. Does he have to use catalyst center? If so where does he enable the crossfire?

Thanks.

Thank you for your guys response.

My friend got it to work, thanks Mastershake.

He did the clip test and PSU was working, all he had to do is clear the CMOS.

Thanks!

Hey , my friend just done assembling his pc, and when he press power button first time, nuthing turned on at all, no curren flowing through the motherboard, no lights , no fans running, etc.

My friend says he can hear current running through the psu cord (not sure what that means).

He got a PC cooling n Silence 750 W.

Does anyone know what possibilities could it be?

Worst case scenario is its a dead on arrival psu and he would return it through newegg.

Razor mice are not bad either. you cant go wrong with them.

you can get a MX-518 mouse for $40 on newegg. I checked this one review where the tested a lot of gaming mouse and tested on tracking motion and the MX-518 came on top by far. It is mostly due to its infarered technology (don't be fooled saying that laser mice are more superior at tracking than infarared).

Also, no need for anything higher than 1600 dpi. 1600 dpi is more than efficient, and i tihnk is too sensitive (I and most professional gamers play at very low sensitivity (max 800 dpi and lower).
