Shut the **** up about this being another "Sony move", Nintendo pulls the same BS, they just make the changes more visible, but no less useless. Am I the only one that thinks the Game Boy Micro is completely pointless? Or what about the DS Lite? When Nintendo announced it was pretty much just: "Ooh the screen is brighter, it's smaller with a glossy finish that will get scratched to hell and you look retarded if you try to play GBA games! Give us more money!" I got my original DS Christmas 2004 and was royally p***ed at Nintendo when less than a year later they announced a new DS that would make mine almost obsolete. I'm surprised at Sony for waiting this long to announce a redesign and if the PS2 is any indication, slimmer and faster is much, much better. My point is that consumer electronics companies release incremental upgrades to their hardware to fix some complaints from customers, with out changing so much as to call it a new generation. They change small things that have almost no effect on production costs and charge you slightly more, which eventually becomes the standard price as the older model are removed from store shelves and their production ceases. Don't pin it on Sony, it's just the industry standard. And a note to those who say Sony is losing in the hand held market: Sony isn't losing, but Nintendo is winning. The only reason PSP sales don't look so great is that DS sales are simply insane. Sony may be getting the short end of the stick but they've still sold over 25 million units, which is almost half as many as Nintendo, but better than anyone who has challenged Nintendo in the hand held arena. And that's without backwards computability and a gimmick. HOW YOU LIKE THEM APPLES!?

menelKiN: Do you understand the spelling of competition? And btwillett2003 does have a point, in that buying a brand new video card now will bite you in the ass when DX10 comes out. Sure, it might take a while for all the games to be using 10, but a non-DX10 compatible card will be obsolete very quickly.
