@StripedTiger711, addressing the point of whether a game, once bought, is the property of the purchaser or a license for access to software is an important one. If you buy a physical copy of a game "first sale doctrine" applies which puts limits on copywrite and basically allows the user to resell the game or give it away as they choose. Regardless of what the developer thinks I'd say that makes it, de facto, your property on the basis that it both looks and quacks like it. If you buy a digital copy it may be "clickwrapped" where you have specifically agreed to the licensing arrangement by clicking that box no-one ever reads, making it unlikely you could sell it on. Something for everyone to keep in mind, if you buy digital it is questionable whether you actually own your game the same way you would a physical copy.

Developers need to realize that once they sell a game it is no longer theirs. It has become the property of the buyer who has a legal right to sell it if they want. They may be upset to see it sold again but it does not belong to them anymore, so tough luck. I resell games directly to get money to buy new games so the money does get back to them in the end, but even if I didn't it would be none of their business.
