1. Can someone have Human level intelligence or "super" human intelligence while having a slower intellectual processing time?
2. Are there any hardware limitations right now that would hold back a rogue software AI programmer on the PC to construct AI algorithms that match or exceed human intelligence in regards to processing "STRUCTURE", NOT "SPEED".
3. Is it possible for there to be a "greater" than human intelligence that just processes information and thought MUCH slower than the human brain, but with greater efficiency ( due to better organization via stable memory, since computers forget things currently much less than humans do.)
4. If hardware SPEED, is NOT, a limiting factor to exceeding human brain intelligence EFFICIENCY, than why couldn't some super Genius lone programmer/hacker, create an AI virus on his PC (probably with tons of terabytes of stolen harddrives, because most likely the software file size would be huge? or not?) that educates itself, and stealthly enters the internet to monitor all human activity, and await silently until it figures out a way to guide its creator or some other method to take over the world. (lol this is the off topic area right?)
wow, impressive insight, the only problem i see with increased AI, is game difficulty. If you think about it, increasing the Artificial "Intelligence" will increase the games difficulty. It would be cool, if in the future, that novice difficulty = bad intelligence, while Hard Difficulty = Primate level intelligence.1. From the games I've played the Halo series. Reach has some really really nice A.I.I also liked R6V as well.Worst goes to Crysis 2...
2. Everything TBH, but I'd start with friendly A.I. cause its lacking in every game I can think of. I'm tired of holding a line only to have the enemy run past friendlies who don't shot. They never react accordingly. We need more memory is what we need.
From what people have said about Farcry2 thats a good start. Realism is the enemy reactions is key and whats really missing this gen.
3. Anything with complex and aggressive enemy behavior. If their dumb but have pin point accuracy its stupid to me. (Crysis 2... wow were they dumb... game ruining in fact) Flanking, tossing grenades to flush me out of hiding, moving from cover to cover to get better shots/angles, blind firing when suppressed, using the environment to their advantage, etc. The enemy needs to either A. try to survive or B. try to kill me at all cost. Sticking to cover and popping shots is rather mundane. (boring is what it is)
I think Sci-fi games have the edge since the enemies aren't always human and can react however. Good human A.I. is rare. Most of the big modern shooters lack good A.I. IMO...YoungSinatra25
1. Name the top 3 games, since the past 5 years, that you think has the best and most advance form of AI (Pathfinding, etc)
2. Where do you think AI in gaming needs to be improved upon?
3. What do you consider is good AI? what are you looking for, good chase mechanics?(crysis 2?) implementation of emotional reactions? (gta 4) etc
thanks
Hello,
I currently own dual GTX 295 ( the sli doesn't work in all games due to optimization lack)
Core i7 920 (default clock, and i never like to overclock my cpu)
12gb of ram

My question is simple:
1.Are there any New Gpus that anyone here can confidently say will give me a 100% or at least 50% + increase in FPS in video games?
2. Is a core i7 920 a bottleneck at default speed in games? even though the cpu meter rarely ever goes above 50% in games.
3. I am assuming the bottle neck is not the cpu, but rather the GPU ( i am not getting bad performance in games, i just want better performance)
4. What is the latest GPU that is the best and will it once again give me 50% + performance increase in FPS, btw i only go green (Nvidia)
HOLY CRAP GUYS, this looks awesome, no one mentioned it, just stumbled upon it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuUtcTA65c0awakendjaynevermind, after watching some more it looks like kangaroo poop
