After playing the game for about 6 hours over the past 2 days here are my thoughts: Keep in mind I have the PS2 version.
I was never able to get used to the controls, so I did switch it back to the old format after about 15 matches.
I've run in to the wrong announce team. (Minimal annoyance)
Wrong ring announcer animated relevant to one talking.(Minimal annoyance)
When you do a tag match it only announces one of the superstars. I've run in to this in every mode (Medium annoyance)
Title matches are not announced as such & superstars are not announced as champs. (Season mode) (Medium annoyance)
No legend cage. There's a particular point in season mode that it would be perfect to insert and unlock (Big annoyance as it was in last years game and I grew up in that time period)
Certain legends have wrong music and/or titan tron, if any at all. (Big annoyance)
I've gotten past Shane being a legend. However, including him in the "Perfect Package" when you unlock him is a bit far in my book. (Medium annoyance)
The game seams to slow down at points during season mode after loading a new screen (Minimal annoyance)
I've played through season mode one full time at this point and enjoyed all of it. I used a random pick for the first season and the superstar was Bobby Lashley.
I've completed all the Superstar Challenges, most of these were rather easy. However, Hardy/Edge parking lot brawl was rather difficult for some reason. I've also completed all 5 Legend Challenges that I've unlocked to this point, and those were rather simple.
I have yet to play GM mode, but will probably start that this evening or sometime tomorrow.
Well the annoyances I can look past and I'll give the game a 9 out of 10 to this point with my experiences.

Note: I also own the PS2 one-Hardy challenge was hard for me too, don't know why. I've run into a problem with my CAW's entrance in season, it for some reason only shows his belt on the ring in part :? Shane in the perfect package? For me it was in the Shane O Mac package after Armageddon. I'm annoyed that you have to win the rumble match to unlock Stone Cold and his belt, because I'm at the rumble now and am the Champ.
Much better sound track this year, also for those of you that I read are struggling with the controls, I did too, but give it a little time. It came to me after about 10 matches.
Well its official. December 2nd I'll have my 360 with the game. My parents are giving me the cash on the 1st and I'll be able to spend it on the 360 on the 2nd. Those two, a year of live, and a second contoller. Should be a blast.bulletproofcow
