So I have put mulitiple CDs in my CD-ROM drive and none of them are able to be read. Anyone know what's wrong with it?

Warriorboy1990

Your CD-ROM might be broken.. or its lens is dirty.

You did mention you're using a "CD-ROM" while the standard nowadays is "DVD-ROM" (or DVD-RW), so i assume it might be old.

You should consider upgrading it to DVD-ROM

Hello everyone

For the retail version of the witcher enhanced edition, does this game requires online authentication? How about limited installs, does it have one?

[update]: strange. i tried executing the game through the bethesda\fallout 3\fallout 3.exe folder. i realized that it bypassed disc checks and whats more.. it stopped crashing!

The PC version once again took a good hit. I agree that it's not as polished as it should be for a PC game, but I've encountered a few minor bugs, and no crashes.

Would you mind telling us what the rest of your PC specs are and what settings you play on? I'm a little iffy about the 8600GT running Fallout 3, but I could be wrong. Any overheating issues with your GPU? Try checking if there's patch. I believe it already prompted me once to download an update.

If all else fails, you can try uninstalling, reinstalling, but don't delete your saved games. And your RAM is kinda slow too.. why not upgrade to 800 DDR2?

You'll definitely get more responses in PC Hardware Forum. GL.

Mine is retail version not the steam so i have to check the official web for updates. there is one update which fixes crashes when alt+tab(ing) and crashes upon exit but that's it.

lucky for you, you have an awesome gaming rig back there! :)

my hardware is very limited. my mainboard is asus P5VD2-VM SE which only allows max of 3GB Ram and accepts DDR2 533 and 677 :(. I think my Vcard is ok. i can play crysis suffeciently running 20-30fps on medium settings. so far this game is a pain in the head. good thing though it never crashed on character creation. but leaving the vault to wasteland, i have about 5 minutes to explore then, crash to desktop.:(

1602 A.D, Imperium Galactica 2, and the Stronghold seires.elfofthefire

"stronghold" is a good empire building. doesn't require very extreme gaming rig.

well i do. the game constantly freezes and/or crashes to desktop every 5 minutes. i've tried every trick suggested over the net (ffdshow audio/video codec exemption, patching, updating drivers, etc.) still no good. this is probably the buggiest game i've encountered so far. its very unstable, unpolished and unplayable (almost)!

its just sad, i've been waiting for a "comeback" from the fallout series yet bethesda presented it in a very unfortunate way. i would have to say morrowing and oblivion is much better, although still full of bugs, it still playable.

my specs:

Windows XP Home Edition SP2

Nvidia Gforce 8600GT 512MB

3GB DDR2 667 RAM

Is it true that bioshock no longer have any activation limits?

i always wanted to get one but because of the activation limits, my urge for getting one held back.
