Right... Cars behave weird, like floating on the pavement. There's something wrong with the camera too. Like, if you turn using the handbrake, it doesn't stay fixed, it follows the trunk of your car. Damage system is also wrong, you can die flying over the windshield on a highspeed crash, and your car barely scratched o bumped. Soundtrack is uncool. GTA used to have such amazing songs... Well, not this time. They did fixed the shadows, a huge issue on gta 4. Graphics look sharp, colorful, models have much more detail, and weather system work just as good as in RDR, or even better. Leaving the hype aside, im pretty sure we have a GOTY here.

I'm not sure about this... but i've heard GC version is better not just for the nicer graphics. the quantity and the ai of the enemies is waaaay superior. as far as i know ps2 has extras, but just to "hide" some of those bugs.

by the way, re4 was supposed to be sooo nice. check on youtube the re4 early stages, inside a mansion... it looked awsome.

For anyone still interested in this topic, I just wanted to give my honest opinion.
I feel sorry for eveyone who spent time reading this entire post, and left messages like "i hope ps2 dies" or "buy a ps3".

Maybe I wasn't able to express myself clearly, and like someone said aorund here, the topic title (and/or my first post) sounded a little offensive.

I never had preferences for a console, or a console maker. I just live with facts. And there's a simple fact: in the last 26 years, I had around 20 different consoles, and 2 remained long long time, and gave me lots and lots of fun. Casually those 2 consoles were ps1 and ps2.

I started this thread just because I went to the united states this year (around february) with 800 bucks to get myself a ps3.

The store clerk told me: "do not buy a ps3 yet. it still has lots of failures. i won't buy a ps3 and take to argentina, because there's lot of chances that will not work properly. I'll wait at least 1 or 2 years"

I came back to my country empty handed, and told myself "i hope ps2 don't dies soon".

somehow, ps2 is still taking out many games, maybe you don't see those on the gamestop shelves, because  first world markets sell mainly ps3 and x360 games.

i got around 20 games in the last month, and gamespot hasn't reviewed most of those games yet, and probably will never do it.

i don't care about the forum, and i'm not here to do any conspiracy or anything.

i just wanted to share my thoughts and expected some people to think like i do.

thanks to anyone who takes time to read this

The truth of the matter is that Gamespot facilitates active discussion. The old forum for PS2 was basically topics like...What games should I get? or Which is better, Fat or Slim? It was the same posts all the time, by the same PS2 lovers. Why would they waste a forum to that go-nowhere, repetitive type discussion? At least having this Legacy Forum, discussion is stimulated in a much broader sense.

And by the way...Big A (the badger), it was Sony's intention to have a 10 year life span on the PS2 from day one. The numbers re: the PS3 are not the factor here. I know numerous people that are getting into the PS2 NOW, for the first time. The system is still selling and making loot...like they planned. At least Sony has faith in their systems and supports them...unlike the Sega mentality of dropping support as soon and a new piece of hardware hits the scene. As well....it does take a while to develop games ya know....not a week or a month. Years in most cases. Sony made it clear to developers, customers and retailers that it would support its' system for 10 years....and they have.

Ok, maybe you have a point, so screw the forums.

But, if PS2 will live for at least 3 more years, why gamespot stopped reviewing those games?

gamespot also allows its users to write reviews and when they are in english and coherrent they are more useful than any crap biased review from gs._AbBaNdOn

ha! you're saying that my english sucks?? thanks! :)

I should have studied it a little more (now i want to see how's your spanish, hehe)

anyway, my concern is why one of the biggest game sites, doesn't care about ps2 anymore, i know players can write their own reviews, but it's full of specefic-game fan that will always review 10s, and low ball **** that will always review games with 3 or 4... it's hard to get something out of that...

Why don't they have a couple of people as a ps2 review team??

it's really easy to just give a couple of less points to the ps2 version and say the graphics are ugly.

they're NOT reviewing even a 10% of the games released on the last six months. Just click on the new releases and you'll see that most games just have the cover, and no score.

I don't care if games are bad or not. They just review those, like any other console.

Otherwise they's not giving me a chance to choose what console i have. They're literally saying "your ps2 is old, we only review ps3, wii, x360 and lastgen pc games, if you want to be part of gamespot, get one of those"
