There's nothing wrong with trying out new genres of games, even if you never gave it a second thought. You could get stuck in the world of warcraft for days and not even realize it but that's the beauty of it all. When you get caputured in a game, the designers have really done their job. I have been at that stage in my life where you just ask "What's next"? I used to rent games ever week and never get tired of beating game after game. Age comes in and then you just look back and say "Wow... did that all just happen"? If you have the love for gaming, don't stop gaming. My cure is to find old games and refreash your love for the game alone. Download an emulator for NES, SNES or even Sega Genesis and fall in love with gaming all over again, as we all did. Games back then didn't take as much time to beat and are very simple. It would open your horizons to appreciate the ingenuity of some of the breakthroughs of todays society.

Okay... here we go... Old School Games....

I have always loved playing old NES games. Aside from the simple controls and cheesy music, I LOVE the originality and innovation from back in the day. There are so many games that can be so addictive with all of only 8 bits of graphic power. I could play Tecmo Bowl with my brothers all afternoon. I love breaking out Super Dodge Ball and beating the crap out of the Russians at the end. Going through Megaman 2 has always been a favorite of mine. I still remember playing Basball Stars for the first time and actually having the power to make my own team, logo, and having a salary to work with on an NES game. Can you believe that? I'm glad that the hackers of today have found a way to make emulators to keep those games alive in todays standards so we may pass them on to our youth. I showed my little brother, 13 years apart, old school Sega Genesis games and got him into Sonic and Streets of Rage. Sometimes, I find him playing the emulators on the PC instead of his PS3 or PSP. Go figure.

I have always had a place in my heart for Final Fantasy Tactics. It was the first RPG that I tried. Little did I know back then is that I would be hooked and forever playing as Ramza and Delita in the world of Ivalice. I even got my wife hooked on that game and she plays it today on the PSP in the FF Tactics: Lions War game.

Playing Super Mario World has been one of my favorites also. I like to time myself and try to beat the game through the star road from the first part of the game. Unlocking all of the secrets and even opening all of the paths. That game really made the SNES.

When you come across a game like that, it's always going to have a place in your heart that you will have to visit every once in a while.

I would love to see a Texas Chainsaw Massacre game that kinda played like a resident evil game.

Perhaps a Spaceballs game would be funny.

How about a game from the storyline of the Boondock Saints. That would freakin' rock!

I know it's not a movie, but the Stephen King Dark Tower series would make a fantastic RPG.

Wow.... that's a classic video gaming movie. I remember when I used to play those games back in the day. Double Dragon on the arcade! That's nuts... That was the days that we used to pop in quarter after quarter to keep on playing until you beat the game. I really miss those days. So much for the dying arcades and coin machines.

Rock on NES forever.... hahaha

Tactical Shooters by far. I started out by playing old school Wolfenstien 3D back on PC and have evolved into a tactical based player. Tactical shooters have been my choice as a solo player. When I'm out with friends playing games, I would rather play something that is alot faster. First Person shooters come in handy with parties like that. I guess it all depends on who you will be playing with or against. Also if you're in online player or not. I could care less about playing online because so many games are hacked when you play team vs. team. Tactical shooter will evolve your skills upon entering those overbearing First Person Shooters.
