@LauraMyLuv I was gonna wait to, but then I saw the Microsoft with 20 bucks back on xbox live so I pretty much got it for 40 which I thought was a good deal for GTA V day one. I haven't bought a day one game since Red Dead Rdemption. I think of it this way. I will be so invested in GTA V that I won't wanna buy any games for a while and when I finally do the other games will drop in price so its win-win for me.

Let's compare console prices of physical and digital console games shall we:

Max Payne 3: $39.99 Live, $39.99 PSN, $14.99 physical on Amazon

Red Dead Redemption: $29.99 on Live and PSN, $14.99 physical (the goty edition is even less than the vanilla digital)

Bioshock Infinite: $39.99 on Live and PSN, physical $27.49 on Amazon for PS3 and $32.49 on 360

Far Cry 3: $39.99 on Live and PSN, physical $29.99

More expensive games sounds like a future I don't want. Ridiculous part is that digital is supposed to be saving them on distribution costs and the games are more expensive, sometimes 50% times more expensive. Ridiculous. This is one of the major reasons why I do not want consoles to go pure digital. You want to get them digital by all means do it, but trying to shove us who want physical out is utter bullshit.

Here are the links to see for yourself. Just search the game and compare prices for yourself.

@arc_salvo @acerx7 That's great and all, but not all games are on Steam and not all gamers play on PC. Consoles are a big issue as well

@TrueGB @crix01 See what seperates all that is my ability to be able to play the games years down the line where, when and how I want. I never had that problems when they switched from tapes and VHS to CDs, or from CDs to DVDs, or from DVDs to Blu Ray. So my issue is being able to do what I want with what I paid for. Its bull, I shouldn't have to check in for something I legitimately paid for.

How about giving the customer a choice of what they want. If you want digital cool, but don't sit there and try and sway public opinion from no physical discs just so you can gain control of what I buy. The reason I don't trust the digital market is because I'm not allowed to back up my games, DRM is heavy, no used games, longevity gets cut short, untrustworthy practices have shown time and time again that portions of games are cut out, I play games to get away from people, not all digital games drop so quickly in price on consoles; most of the time I find the physical disc much cheaper than the console versions, and lastly and most important, I do not like some company telling what I can do with a product I worked my ass off to pay for.

For those defending this by bringing up Steam can you answer this:

1. Can I backup my games?

2. Will I keep my games such as Gabe said if the company goes out of business?

3. Can I play in a offline mode?

4. Why are digital console games more expensive than physical copies more than half the time if they are supposed to be cheaper to distribute?

@Slade968 @darkknight109 Higher prices, games sold out in pieces, DRM, no used games, no game longevity. Yeah, doubt it.

@Random_Matt @krystyla @honi302 I shit you not I had 5 xbox systems die on me. The one I originally purchased and all the replacements they sent (they had different serial numbers) The last one was a month after the warranty was up. Couldn't get a replacement and had a ton of games. Went to Best Buy to buy a new Xbox 360 (this was when the newest design came out with the sensitive chrome power button) and the Microsoft rep was there. I was so pissed I asked him why do the systems break down so often and told him this was my 5th one. He was really cool and honest and said Microsoft wasn't doing a good job of repairing them, he told me it was "MIckey Mouse repairs." Fast forward I still have that system, but having 5 systems break down on you straight totally sucks.
