@boobytrap: Agree. Old Twin Peaks and many Lynch's movies had this "i don't understand many things but it is very interesting" feeling . New season has "i don't understand anything and i am friggin bored" feeling.

@MigGui: I agree, my real concern with random is not that it is less tactical but it is that maps look bland and uninteresting - it is obvious draw of random maps. Maps crafted manually will always be much more interesting and balanced. That is why i dropped XCOMs because, even though story missions were quite interesting, those random filler maps for me was a drag...

I am maybe weird but random encounters were the only thing that actually made me drop both XCOM reboots. Went through hard west though and loved it. Random called random because they are .... random, and that word is quite opposite of tactic imho. And replayability can be easily achieved by different difficulty level or different tactic or different team etc. So if only thing that bad for reviewer is actually very good for me - i am game;)
