@Spacerac, You nailed the problem right on the head. It's not that people have a problem with homosexuality in games, it's when people feel it's forced upon them. My employees at work don't actively seek out my attention to tell me their sexual orientation and neither should my games. I'm not speaking directly about ME3 but really all games in general. Homosexuals in games are perfectly fine and acceptable in fact, I thoroughly enjoyed the variety the gay characters in GTA IV brought to the table. If it's something people want in their game experience, then it should be something that they have an option of doing, not the standard. People have differing opinions on the subject, and if people were truly open minded about the subject they would be accepting of any opinion no matter how bigoted, and our video games should reflect those vast differences in opinion by not being too heavily geared towards any specifically.

I don't really care about any of the social quandries of the game. I purposely made my character gay in DA:O just so I could get the achievements for having sex with the guys. Hilarious. Anyway, the problem with ME3 is that in an attempt to appeal to an even wider audience than before, the game became a true shell of its former self. ME1 gave us a vast, detailed and consequence driven game that had not been experienced outside the KOTOR franchise. ME2&3 have steadily taken that great setup and increasingly manipulated it in order to literally appeal to anyone and sell more copies. To quote a friend of mine, "They Michael Bayed the sh*t out of it. Now it's Gears of War with neon and sparklers."
