To make a movie, you need a screenwriter, a director, producers, actors, cameramen, editors, make-up artists, coreographers (for the lightsaber fights), artists, CGI technicians, a boatload of equipment, and the list goes on and on. And gaffers.

And the book has alot more content than the movie. You'll recall that, inevitably, every movie based off of a book has cut quite a bit from said book. >_>

The thing about the extended Star Wars galaxy is that it is SOOO confusing. If they were planning to put more stories into the Star Wars world, why didn't they just make more movies? For instance, they should have had some movie explaining who Greivous really is and how he got to become a pissed off Sith cyborg. (Or at least explained it in Episode 3). That's something you wouldn't know unless you went out and read a book. And who wants to read a book about a movie? That's like eating healthy food. . .
