[QUOTE="pero2008"]I got a question on Lasic eye surgery. Is it true that when the surgery is done they make one eye far sighted and the other near sighted?worlock77

That would make for terrible vision, which runs kinda contrary to the point of lasic surgery.

Actually I've read of this done with contacts. It's for people who need bifocals. That way, one eye has a small advantage for far sight, and one has a small advantage for close sight, so the person has a sort of compromise so they can see near and far reasonably well.

As to the topic, I have eye floaters. I think most do. I noticed mine when I was just a little kid and they were about the same as they are now. They're kind of annoying, but I don't notice them most of the time unless I'm somewhere bright.

I prefer it medium length. I have a tiny head so that makes it look a little bigger. But most people say I look better with short hair. So every four months I cut it short and let it get long. Saves money on haircuts. :P

By the way, are the markbands for AP as generous as they are for IB? For example, to get a 7 (highest mark), you only need a 75% or so in most exams. Is it the same for AP courses?rpgs_shall_rule

For the most part yes. Different AP tests have different curves, and from what I understand, they redo the curve every test to account for differences between tests. Also, this is the first year guessing is allowed (they won't take off 1/4 of a point extra for wrong answers), and so the curve may rise slightly. But generally about 75% is a 5 which is the highest score.

No, though a couple close calls with people not checking their blind spots who would have hit me had I not braked and moved aside.

When I was a kid though, we were on the freeway, and a guy had a wooden board that wasn't secured in his pickup properly. All of a sudden it flew out and hit the car just below the window, broke in half, and hit the car behind us too. Left a huge dent, but it could have been much worse if it had hit the window.

Oh and my dad got hit by a car SITTING INSIDE A STORE. An old woman just blew through the windows and dragged him through the wall. From what I hear she kept on the accelerator even inside the store. Luckily my dad was alright.

[QUOTE="Pixel-Pirate"]

So a yellow light is a red light? Why do we have it, then? Should just be green and red.

Pixel-Pirate

Yellow light DOSE NOT MEAN SPEED UP

lol

it means slow down, pass if needed, proceed with caution

If there was no yellow light there would be far more crashes in a intersection...

Again if it's treated just like a red light (stop) then why have it? Speeding up should be fine unless you're breaking the speed limit.

100% agree. And like was said, sometimes it's safer to speed up.

This is even more applicable on my motorcycle. Lights don't detect it usually because it is too small, and so sometimes the yellow light is triggered in an awkward situation. One stop was so sudden I accidentally skid the rear wheel for a good couple seconds. Granted, my fault for overapplying, but point is, in a case like that it is far safer to just accelerate past the light.

Anyway, on topic, I haven't gotten ticketed for anything luckily. I have seen a cop here give students tickets for riding a bicycle without a helmet. I think that's kind of a dumb law, because though I will always wear one, I don't see why you don't have the freedom not to.

A few of their songs are my favorites (Have a Cigar, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Comfortably Numb, and some more). The rest I'm pretty neutral about, as in they can play and I won't be annoyed but I won't be interested. I'm like that with most music though.

First crush was this girl I barely knew, 8th grade. Don't know why I liked her. She was very smart, but honestly, other than that, I don't know. I ended up telling her in a very pathetic way the next year (through a paper note) and was directly, yet softly rejected the next day. To be honest, now I am so relieved nothing happened. We have very little in common, and I can't talk to her about anything. We're still vaguely connected through a school club, but to me it's always awkward.

My mom found a store here that sells really cheap snacks. The catch is that most are expired. I've been eating 1 month plus expired Doritos for a couple years now and nothing has happened.

So yes, I definitely would.
