I did watch the associated IGN link. Did I miss something?

sure did. the question had nothing to do with day and night cyles. this is the question , thanks for misleading every one TC.

Did you listen to KYs answer? He said something along the lines of, (paraphrasing here), "we could even add time of day changes if we wanted to do", clearly indicating that time of day is not currently in the game. Please go back and listen to his answer and tell me if I missed something.

Why is everyone so defensive here? The reason I visit System Wars is that it's one of the first places that news about the industry hits, I'm just trying to contribute. Sorry if you don't like the message, but you might not want to blame the messenger.

So I'm just curious if the people who called me a troll, misinformer and accused me of not actually watching the link I posted are going to respond or was it that you guys didn't actually listen to the link and KY telling us that these features aren't currently in the game.

One way or the other, I guess I'll know who has character and whose opinions are worthless.

Weather and Day/Night Cycles

Yamauchi: "We can implement it, but we don't know whether we will put it in or not. Even for damage, it only took us two months to get it where we're at, and if we really wanted to, we could enter time changes and stuff like that, but it really depends on how it will affect the quality of the game." via IGN

That doesn't sound too promising and stinks big time. From previous statements and recent interviews it sounded as though this was a forgone conclusion and was already done, but from that statement it sounds like nothing has been done to support those features.

Misleading topic title FTW?

Fixed, just for you.

So I guess when KY says he can't even play other racing games because they do so many things wrong he just wants to throw the controller down in frustration after two minutes, or that games that aren't at 60 fps aren't games, he is actually praising those games? Step out of your fanboy suits and realize that nobody promotes their products with puppies and roses. It's a competetive game out there and everyone is playing to win.

GT5P VS F3 VIDEO http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-12218-Providence-Video-Game-Examiner~y2009m9d27-Forza-3-vs-GT5-Prologue-comparison-video gt5 eats f3 alive in lighting and models Liquid_DC

Wow. Watching that video proves it to me. Both games look fantastic, but holy hell, with the comparision, GT sounds so terrible it's unbelievable. Grats to Forza for not making their cars sound like a Hoover vacuum. Polyphony should be embarrased.

It's called level of detail and every game uses the technique. The demo looks great, every article I've read has stated how great the game looks, but some random fanboy wasting his time trying to prove otherwise is supposed to convince me? This damage control is getting out of control, and just plain pathetic.

Finally some good news. I hope they improve the mechanical damage because it's been pretty lackluster so far, but it's probably been toned back for demo purposes just like Forza was these game shows. What is more telling is that maybe, just maybe, PD are starting to listen to their fanbase.
