I thought this was a neat video, anyone who is a fan of the Space Engine might recognize some of the graphics, but I think it's an interesting use (to get free "CGI" looking stuff at an amateur level). I wouldn't be surprised if shows like Cosmos have ever used it as well.
I hope you guys enjoy it, it was an interesting and educational experience making this film (especially using the Space Engine in a really odd and unique way). I wanted to make something pretty different and experimental, and I like to think I at least succeeded in that department :) .

I believe he was the one who came up with the idea. It's nothing to do with Hollywood.
Not true, where do you think the actors or producers will be coming from? Besides, it's even worse he came up with the idea, I could understand remaking it if it was an old 50's sci-fi, because noone will want to watch it (War of the Worlds.) But really, just leave this horror original alone, this is entirely unnessecary.
