I could be wrong, but I'm guessing most of their songs that you've heard are the early pop songs. You can hear the band evolve in every album. Love Me Do Beatles are faaaaar different from White Album Beatles.

I'm currently studying them as part of my state exams next year (Its not a choice, we were given a group to study and we got the Beatles), so I have heard a lot of their stuff.The music dos'nt really get to me ... for me, there were more exiting and charismatic bands in the 60's than the Beatles, like The Who, The Doors and Pink Floyd.
