I think it is perfectly alright for a developer to make a game and release DLC for it later, as long as it is an addition to an already complete game, not a feature that should have already been in it. I've bought quite a few games new recently, and some day of. I bought Fallout New Vegas special addition day of, 80$, and I gladly buy the DLC, because the game was complete. I love the game, as well as Dead Money and Honest Hearts. On the other hand I bout Dead Space 2 used, 50$, and now I have to pay 10$ for multiplayer? That is an incomplete game. Some developers really need to take a tip from BioWare. Cerberus Network is perfect. If you buy Mass Effect 2 new, you get some cool free DLC, but if you buy it used you miss out on some nice DLC, but it is still a complete game. When I bought Dead Space 2 the package said "Activate your Dead Space 2 Online Pass to access online features". The message that conveyed to me was "Oh, I'm missing out on some multiplayer content. Meh, I can live without the high end weapons and armor." not "I don't get to play multiplayer". If they would've been more specific, such as "Multiplayer cannot be accessed without the Dead Space 2 Online Pass" I would've known. That is just wrong. Making people buy incomplete games, just because they wanted to buy one of your companies games and the store didn't have any new copies in, that's one thing. Making the notice on the back so vauge that you don't even realize you are buying an incomplete game is another. Thanks alot EA, fantastic job pissing off your fans.
