@DIOSNY:

Perhaps they are too different. Perhaps if Horizon was a first party open world game where the player explores a massive world that is decorated with dangerous reminders of its technological past where the protagonist trys to learn the truth of their past through exploring runes left behind, taking on quests for the differing locals of different regions, gathering resources and enemy drops to upgrade gear, and discovering the vast map by climbing to the top of towers instead of a first party open world game where the player explores a massive world that is decorated with dangerous reminders of its technological past where the protagonist trys to learn the truth of their past through exploring runes left behind, taking on quests for the differing locals of different regions, gathering resources and enemy drops to upgrade gear, and discovering the vast map by climbing to the top of towers, then they could be compared.

I'm playing both, and the truth is they are very similar games that can and should be compared.

And as implied by my prior post, I don't trust Metacritic scores for Zelda games. They become inflated just for the sake of the games being Zelda games. Many critics only point of comparison is other Zelda games. That's how mearly decent games like Skyward Sword get scores like 93.

Both games are awesome! It's a shame that they came out in the same week, since it means I have to put one game on hold to play the other.

@DIOSNY: Look, I love Zelda. I'm enjoying Breath of the Wild quite a bit. I was also Horizon quite a bit before I put it on hold to play Zelda. But the idea that these two very similar games shouldn't be compared because one is part of a long, time-honored franchise is silly. Each Zelda game should be viewed on its own accord. Otherwise you will get overhyped, overpraised games like Skyward Sword, Phantom Hourglass, and Metroid: Other M.

I find it interesting that you have found many weapons I haven't, but don't have some of the first weapons I've found (after the plateau). It really goes to show how much there is and how open the game is.

@griff4l: You could do what I'm currently doing. I picked up a Switch and Zelda. I'm playing through it, and then I'm going to immediately sell it at little or possibly no loss. The only real downside to this is that there is no way to keep my save file. So, if I get a Switch again down the road--when it has more than one game--and I pick up Zelda again, I'll have to restart.

@aladan53: PS Now is an exception to Sony's rule because it takes constant resources from them to operate. Don't forget: Sony are the ones who started cross-buy to begin with, and they support it well. That's why five of the six games given out this month work on PS4.

@sylvafang: I don't think they are saying that it's doing badly. They are just saying that their initial projections were too high. The inconsistencies in supply mentioned is probably referring to the unit vs the launch bundle. The bundle is much harder to get in the US (where it exists) than the headset, which shows that many people are not willing to compromise the value offered by it and that the people buying PSVR are not necessarily the same people who bought their other optional peripherals.

The article even specifies that Sony taking it slow isn't a problem.

@butterwomp: I experienced a significant enough number of crashes to title or the XMB on Rock Band 3 on PS3 that my playgroup deemed the game unplayable and opted for Rock Band 2 instead. It was bad enough that if we spent more than a minute making a setlist in the campaign, the game would crash. So, we tried to rush to pick songs as fast as possible. I know that there were other PS3 users who had this issue, but not all of them, so I suspect the specific model of the PS3 mattered.

It was never patched for fixed. This essentially resulted in a $60 loss on my part, so I'm hesitant to rush into another Rock Band purchase.

Scott, what platform did you play on and did you experience any technical errors like being booted back to the home screen?
