Power supply will not create worse performance, however it can make no performace at all a high option.  I got a new card a while back and i put it in but i didnt have enough power.  I appeared to work but if u asked for anything to labor intensive it would turn funny colors and some time the screen would just go blank - all fixed by adding a bit more Juice.

You might try FRAPs but it only goes for 30 sec unless u get a full copy which unfortunatly does cost money.

Higher ram will do both - it is always good to have more Ram particularly on a graphics card.  Either way you might not notice the better performace on the surface so it depends on the money.  If you don't notice it, is it really worth having?

Depending on how big this card is it may very well need more power.  All the stuff in your computer sucks power but hard drives probly suck the most so make sure your hard drives and the card are on diffrent cables.

XP should format and partition your drives by itself as part of the standard set up process.  Make sure that in the bios you boot from the CD not the hard drives first and the CD should take over.  After instillation make sure to put it back to booting from the Hard drives first.  If your computer can't find your hard drives make sure they are pluged in right and make sure they have power (two cables should run into each hard drive; one for power, one for data).  Its hard to say what the exxact problem is without more info: if you have tried these or do try these but they dont work - post back with as specific dietails as possible.

Well I will also agree there, that 1942 was good.  BF2 I think was atleast 2nd best though - 2142 was jsut plain crap though: the maps were large rocks with no interesting terain, you couldnt survive unless you were in a tank, the combat was horrible cause there wasn't enough ammo and the focus was too much on destroying titans.

someone forgot that the whole point wasnt just titans, there needs to be interesting play on the ground level too and I don't feel BF 2142 gave that.

Yep: 2142 sucks so the real gamers went back to battlefield 2 and SF.  I would play either of those if ur tired of counterstrike.  OR you could try ghost recon or something.  Its not too hard to find at least an ok 1st person shooter out there so I would just look to find any first person if thats what ur after.
