Yes on SBB Dojo it says:

"After much consideration, we decided to have Snake refrain from using real-world guns—instead, he'll use lots of explosives."

I voted for Snake. I think it will be intresting to see his fighting style.
I would imagine he would be a bit like Fox, in that he would use his CQC for basic attacks, but pressing "B" would use a gun.

I read that Snake will use Fighting and things like Grenades, not guns. The official SSBB site i think. SSB Dojo.
